Is it possible to turn off move staling in smash ultimate?

I was playing smash on someone else's switch and someone there said they thought that move staling had been turned off since the people playing there often didn't know much about smash and often would only know a few moves. I was curious so I checked the ruleset and couldn't even find an option to turn move staling off.

were they mistaken or is it possible to turn move staling off?

You can only switch off move staling in Training Mode. Useful for testing combos or for damage calculation.

Staling is meant to discourage repeated attacks and encourage using a character's entire moveset. The staling queue resets once you are KOed or use other moves.

Your friends were probably mistaking with Training Mode or thought it was also available in Smash Mode.

Rares can have between 4-6 affixes. It may seem like there can be 7, but some affixes can have multiple effects, such as one providing both a strength and vitality boost. Blue items can have between 1-2 affixes. Again, some mods may make it seem like having 3 affixes due to having 2 effects.

These refer to the Figure Player's style or personality. There are 25 possibilities depending on how the FP is trained and which spirits you use on it: Cool reflects a playstyle where the FP keeps its cool, being rather defensive and playing safely. Light reflects a playstyle where they will often use their projectile attack and try to rack up fast damage with minor combos and rush-down strategies. Both Light and Cool use aerial attacks too. You can find a guide to all 25 styles here.

When a Warlord Grug/Turge levels up five times, it becomes a Duke of Ork. When you are not actively attacking them, they can do a sort of battle cry which levels them up. As you can see, the Duke is very high level and can dish out a considerable amount of damage with his giant axe/hammer. When you see a Warlord, take him down quickly! There is a unique version called Warlord Slog. After leveling five times in the same manner, he will become the King of Orks. Note: This Kotaku article mentions a leveling Badass Orc Warlord as well, but does not specifically say it can become a Duke of Ork as it does with Warlords Grug and Turge.

As of Update 3.0.0... Turnips are no longer different between the two. From the patch notes on Daisy's down-special: The launch distance when hitting an opponent with a vegetable now matches Peach. Many people thought that the fact that they were different to begin with was a development mistake. Daisy's knockback values (pre-3.0.0) were the numbers Peach had in Smash 4. So the fact that they're now changed to match each other seems to confirm that someone was copy-pasting values and forgot to change both Peach and Daisy. I'll leave the below answer for historic value, but note that it's no longer accurate as of Update 3.0.0. Their Turnips Peach and Daisy's down-special, Vegetable was just yesterday discovered to have different knockback values between the two characters! @jugeeya on Twitter was able to pull the code that shows this: As you can see, everything is the same except the Knockback Scaling (KBG) and Base Knockback (BKB) between the two (45/25 for Peach, 35/30 for Daisy). How does the game use these numbers? For that we're going to have to take a look at how Knockback works in Smash. To take from that Wiki page, the formula used to calculate how far a character will fly from any given move looks like1: To paraphrase from the Wiki page, these variables are: p - Percent of the player being hit (after the attack's damage is added) d - Damage the attack dealt w - Weight of the player being hit s - Knockback Scaling, or KBG in the code above b - Base Knockback, or BKB in the code above r - A collection of any other modifiers (from things like giant mushroom, smash attack charge, rage, etc...) So since Peach has less Base Knockback but more Knockback Scaling than Daisy, it means that at lower percents Peach's turnips won't send the opponent as far, but at higher percents, they'll begin to send linearly further. Okay, but what does that actually look like? To visualize this, @Ruben on Twitter posted some graphs of what knockback will look like at different percents for different Turnips (remember that knockback is calculated with the percent of the opponent after the damage is dealt. So even if the opponents starts at 0%, with a turnip like the Stichface that deals 30% Daisy may never actually have more knockback): What does this mean for the characters at a competitive level? As is made clear by the above graphs, the window where Daisy will deal more knockback is extremely tiny and even non-existent with some Turnips. Peach just consistently hits harder, especially at later percents when looking for a kill. The lesser knockback may give Daisy some more interesting or consistent combos, but at the moment it hasn't been tested enough to be shown. The immediate reaction from most of the community and the large Peach/Daisy players is that Peach is now clearly the better character. But only time will tell. There are several ways to pick up items in Smash Bros... Standing near the item and pressing the attack button (A on default controls) The following applies to all items except Grass and heavy items1 In midair using the grab button (Z on default controls) - Melee onward In midair using an air dodge (pressing shield - L/R) - Brawl onward Input dash attack or any aerial within 5 frames of coming into contact with an item - Brawl onward Input tilt attack within 2 frames of coming into contact with an item - Ultimate onward (Ultimate also changed Brawl's 5-frame window to be 2 frames for dash attack and aerials) There are, however, only three ways to drop an item Throw the item Press attack or grab and a direction (or just attack alone to throw forward)2 "Z-drop" (named for the default grab button, Z) On the ground, pressing grab alone will have the character toss the item lightly up and behind them. In the air however, pressing grab with no direction will drop the item downward. The important differentiating factor between a Z-drop and a downward throw is that Z-drops have almost no lag. Meaning you can use a Z-drop to combo (see below) Item drop chance When your character is hit while holding an item, there is a random chance they will drop the item. This is computed on the damage of the attack hitting you. From Brawl onwards, that chance is [Base Dmg] / 70 (so Falcon Punch, which has base dmg of 25%, will have 25/70 = ~35.7% chance of making you drop an item). More fun with item grabs So what if you want to do an aerial attack while holding an item? Since Z-drop comes out on the first frame (insanely fast!), and you can also use an aerial to re-grab an item... you can actually Z-drop, and then perform your aerial immediately to re-catch the item! This is called an "IZAC" (Instant Z-Drop Aerial Catch). Putting this all into practice with an item that does a small amount of knockback makes for some crazy combos! 1. The exhaustive list of heavy items is as follows... Barrel, Barrel Cannon (Melee only), Blast Box, Crate, Party Ball, Rolling Crate. 2. There are a few edge-cases where this will do an attack instead of an item throw. Namely, if Peach/Daisy are floating (holding down or jump while in the air to hover), they cannot throw an item. Pressing attack and a direction will cause an aerial to come out.

There is a win condition now; the previous answers are outdated. There is now a story mode campaign, called "Adventure mode", which can be initiated from a normal game by activating Maxwell's Door, which is a large wooden doorlike structure with a hoop on top that is generated in every (new) Sandbox world. Adventure mode has a series of progressively harder levels, but it does appear to have a definite ending sequence.

For simplicity's sake I'm going to assume you have B set to special. It looks like you have the right idea. The trick is going to be pressing Up-B and then immediately holding the stick directly sideways. Unfortunately, it seems that Smash Bro.'s is still not supported for Video Gameplay Capture. Because of that (and my lack of a capture card), the best I'm only going to be able to show is stills of her recovery (as opposed to fancy gifs). Here's where I'm standing: And here's where I am at the end of Up-B when I'm holding left, nothing and right respectively (click for larger image)1: As you can see by comparing my starting position and the leftmost picture in the above series, going straight up with the recovery is possible! The secret here is to make sure that you're flicking the stick perfectly sideways. If you're at all angling up or down, you won't end up going directly upwards. Here is an example of my stick flicks: If you're having trouble with the timing and getting your stick to be completely sideways, I'd advise you to go into training mode on 1/4 speed. Press Up-B and when you see Corrin starting the animation, flick the stick in the opposite direction. A word of caution: I played Corrin competitively for a few years in Smash 4, so I'm speaking from experience when I tell you that the window to flick your stick is surprisingly small. If you flick too late, you’ll only end up with a slightly angled recovery, but if you flick too early, you'll end up with a B-Reverse, which will turn Corrin around to face the other way. I can't tell you the number of times I've killed myself from doing an accidental B-reverse instead of a straight upwards up-B. So don't beat yourself up if you can't get this on your first try! 1. Note that these images were taken before Update 3.0.0 where, from the patch notes, Corrin got "Extended launch distance" on her up-special.

tl;dr : No, DotA 2 doesn't support yet custom game mode. DotA 2 is a full online game (Appart for some tournament where players play on local lobby). This means that the game settings are set on Valve's server and thus can not be changed. Either you play All Pick, Captain's Mode or ARDM you can not turn off deny when playing matchmaking. Even if you create a private lobby, there are no option implemented at the moment that allows such thing. However, with the release of Source 2 coming early 2015, DotA 2 is on the way to fully support custom games modes which could lead to DotA games where denying is turned off. Still this would not be an official DotA game and you might not find many players to play with you. That being said, learning to deny is a concept inner to DotA. If your friend has trouble denying he can use the folowing command dota_force_right_click_attack "1" which makes denying a lot easier since you can right click to deny and are not longer required to press the Attack key then select the creep you want to deny (This command can be written in an autoexec.cfg file so you don't have to type it everytime you start the game. If it's the whole concept of denying that is the issue then I'm afraid there is not much more you can do, denying is a part of DotA and is a very interesting game mechanic. It can help you control your lane (if you want to push or not), it forces you to decide if you want to commit for a tower kill or if you let it being denied, you can even do some clutch plays and deny allies when they are low life thus denying some much needed XP and Gold to the enemy team.

The majority of skill moves in Fifa 13 are performed using a combination of the L2 (PS3) / LT (Xbox 360) and a movement of the right stick. Whilst holding down L2 or LT, moving the right stick in a direction or a combination of directions will make the player with the ball perform different skills. The skills that players can do are dependent on their skill-star rating. Every skill has a star rating between 2 and 5. If the player you currently control has a skill-star rating equal or above that, then they can perform that skill. It is possible that you were trying high star rated skills with a player unable to do them. This here lists the different skills and the skill-star rating that they require.

You must fight a timed battle of length < 3 minutes Looking at "walkthrough videos" (that really aren't too helpful) both here and here, it seems they've both used rule sets that set the match time to be less than 3 minutes. This is confirmed to be necessary in the comments: Just so everyone knows, I've tried this multiple times and it didn't work. I changed the time to 2:30 instead of 3:00 and it instantly worked. Give it a go if you've been having the same issue. - MiLo ChaelPez So even 3 minute matches are too much! In addition to this, I'd suggest fighting against a Jigglypuff, as Puff is very light and so will be launched further from your attacks and be killed sooner. From another comment, it sounds like you can even get away with turning the launch rate up to 2.0x and still complete the challenge: what i did was i choose jigglypuff as the cpu and set the launch rate to 2.0, then i went to Dreamland and beat it there - DoggoTron If you're having trouble actually doing the Rapid Jab, we actually have a question on just that (for this character too!) here.

Planets and moons are "on rails". You can not affect them or their orbits with the physics engine. However, you can change their orbits with the mod Hyperedit. You can also use this to put two planets on a collision course, but the result won't be what you would expect. The game engine is not designed to handle planetary collisions. The planets will just move through each other without harm while any crafts on the planets or in their orbits will encounter some weird glitches.

There are a handful of factors to consider here. Your character choices. King K. Rool is a humongous character. Sephiroth is also relatively large. I can't say for sure, but spot dodging may simply not be enough; it's entirely possible that Incineroar's Side-B hitbox will still be active by the time that K. Rool's hurtbox returns from a spot dodge input. Rolling towards the attack might be a better option. Consider that Incineroar's Side-B is purely horizontal. You can easily punish a spammy player by jumping and using some sort of aerial attack. Depending on the character and your positioning, forward air, down air, or back air would be ideal. For your character choices, I don't believe Terry is the best aerial fighter, but K. Rool and Sephiroth have insanely huge hitboxes in the air, so you should be able to punish repeated Alolan Whip inputs. Consider that Incineroar is criminally slow. His run, certain moves, and Side-B, are just peanut butter slow. None of your character choices are particularly quick, but perhaps a faster character would outmaneuver Incineroar.

From the "dismiss spirits" menu that you were in there's a sorting option for "By Number Obtained (High to Low)" which makes it easy to dismiss all of the duplicates.
