How to make straight mines?

Mining through a mountain, I see that, unlike Minecraft, it is very hard, on Medieval Engineers, to make a straight mine without some aid. But I don't know which aid I could use.

Masons/bricklayers use some lines to ensure the bricks are all aligned on a straight line. I believe this technology already existed on Medieval Ages.

How can I do this? Or is there a better way to ensure that I'm not making a circular cave?

Cheap Planks will do the trick, as they can only be rotated 90º:

This https://steamcommunity.com/app/333950/discussions/0/2592234299547126328/ has a reply from the developers stating that is primarily for multiplayer only. it's mostly for multiplayer gameplay, if you pay the taxes (at the claim block) it protects all creations (house/castle) in your area. Aside from this, reading over the https://medievalengineerswiki.com/w/Claim_Block doesn't seem to indicate anything useful for singleplayer.

Endermen require a 3x1x1 space to spawn and a light level of 7 or less. The darker the place the more likely it is to spawn, the only way to decrease spawn rates it to light up/fill in areas. Ways to increase Endermen spawning in particular include stopping spiders or slimes from spawning instead by filling in areas below level 40 in slime-spawning chunks. Also get rid of 1x2x2 areas for spiders to spawn. You will still get normal levels of the other tall mobs (skeleton, zombie, creeper), but they do not have any unique spawning requirements so nothing can be done. Using a sword with a looting enchantment with give you more enderpearls per Enderman. And going to The End will mean only endermen can spawn.

A

Just keep F pressed for a few seconds while aiming at the placed craft and it will go to your inventory. There will even be a timer there so you know how much time remains to get it.

Considering a https://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/?id=1503751972 exists for adding water, I am guessing there is none in the vanilla game. I've just tested with a creeper spawner and a sword with knockback. Knockback is not the cause of the explosion. What I think is happening to you is that the creeper is reaching the creeper event horizon - beyond which it definitely will explode, then you're hitting it. It's ending up miles away - much further away than it would be normally - then exploding.

I can confirm it's the right trigger. I just checked on my Xbox 360. It's really a last-ditch sort of thing; I wouldn't suggest counting on it.

You might be looking in the wrong place. You can find ores by looking at places which have odd-colored grass.

The dropped experience orbs have nothing to do with mobs dieing in there. The QuarryPlus drops xp for the ores it mines (for the ores that give xp such as coal and nether quartz. Since the chunks are in some weird state of loaded/not-loaded the item dissappear timer doesn't tick down and the xp piles up. The moment you arrive you then find whole masses of xp laying around.

Minecraft doesn't have a "tutorial", exactly, so it is difficult to understand the rules, the first time you play. If you visit the wiki however, you can find out a lot about the game. In this instance, you'll find that in order to mine Iron Ore, you need a Stone Pick. A Wooden one will not work.

Yes, using 2 Wheels per Catch Block: Just don't look like a Minecart due to the size of its Wheels and of the rails (Round Timbers)... Real Minecarts would be welcome here.

You may be confusing two different concepts. Resolution is where we see game video scaled to the screen. All of the same content is on display, but the game video is stretched to best fit the screen. You will find game engines are designed to use APIs (such as DirectX) to scale as desired. This helps a game support any game screen (i.e. without a dependency on a limited number of sizes in such a wide range of available screen sizes). This forms part of the rendering stage for (most) games. Over time this may naturally support bigger screens through scaling, or perhaps needs some mod to intercept/realign API function calls (for cases where the game purposely limited its resolution to a selection of resolutions). As for getting more items to fit on screen, this is more entwined into the game engine itself. You are not going to find an easy or universal method that will allow screens to show more of the game world depending on some controllable variable. Each game will have its own "model" of the game world. This model will be optimised so that hardware at the time of its release can run smoothly. Unless the developer makes regular patches in this area, you are very unlikely going to see "more" items on screen if you use a large screen/resolution (beyond any optimisation that may be built in during the initial release). You may find a mod that somehow manages to tweak variables in the executable or a data file, but in most cases you are just stuck with the game as is. Also, there is a somewhat unfair advantage if one player sees less of the map to another because they possess a smaller monitor. This probably only affects online play, but still, why make the game behave so differently? For these reasons, you are more likely to see a game possess visual scaling properties as opposed to seeing more items on screen for larger screens.

By the looks of it, the vanilla game does not have ladders according to https://steamcommunity.com/app/333950/discussions/0/1471967615846949155/ , and a few others such as https://steamcommunity.com/app/333950/discussions/0/1676938384249978624/ . The post links to https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1121540837 that seems to add a type of ladder, but it doesn't look like a straight vertical kind, but a slightly angled one, which I imagine can still be useful.
