How did some server members obtain Protection 255 on my Minecraft server?

On my server, several members have been caught obtaining items with Protection 256 and/or other high-level enchantments. They don't have any rank that would allow them to do this.

What are some possible ways that these users could have obtained these high-level enchantments? I would like to know so that I can prevent them from abusing this in the future.

Only up to protection level 4 is obtainable in survival. The only way to get anything higher than that would be the /give command (which on a server, only Admins would have access to). So I guess try to get one from them? But likely they would only do so if you paid for a rank.

You might be using: -Djava.ext.dirs=../lib as a startup directive for your java. Try using a regular startup directive such as java -Xmx1G -Xms1G -jar (jarfile) If this does not work, you can try downgrading to Java 7

The problem is that either the server cannot connect to Minecraft.net or that the person getting that error doesn't have a legitimate Minecraft account and so the server is refusing access. The way to solve this is either to get all players a premium Minecraft account, or to change online-mode to false to stop it from checking the validity of the other account.

You need to do something called port forwarding. In essence, port forwarding is mapping one IP address and port to another. Most commonly, one maps an external IP and port (that can be accessed by everyone) into an internal IP and port (which cannot), thus allowed the internal IP and port to be accessible from the outside. In your case, you need to map your internal IP and port (your computer hosting your server) into an external IP and port (so everyone can visit it). I'm not going to explain how to port forward here; it is fairly complicated. Time in the sense of day/night cycle and weather passes while no one is on, however in all other senses time doesn't pass in a given chunk unless a player is online and nearby enough (although for a small set of chunks near the default spawn, "nearby enough" is anywhere in the Overworld).

I had to add the following into the server properties file + restart the server enable-command-block=true The problem was that command blocks just... didn't work I guess, and the pressure plates relied on them. Adding that small command to the properties allowed the plates to start working again.

A

A pretty good indicator is the color of your engine. It starts out blue and cold, and then progresses through green and yellow to red. Once it goes red, it is a pretty good idea to shut it down so it doesn't explode. If you want to be completely safe, turn it off in the yellow stage, although it can be a bit time-consuming to keep watch and letting it cool down more often.

It may be a ghast, either in the nether, or it escaped through a portal (I am not sure if they can do that, but if they can, then that would be possible). Turn on subtitles and look what they say while you hear that sound, to turn on subtitles go to the settings, "Options...", "Accessibility settings...", "Show Subtitles". Try if you can hear it in every dimension (overworld, nether, and end). Try if you can hear it in peaceful mode.

Answering the first part of that question: An overflow protection means either an addition to a storage-related circuit or a modification to it, which makes that circuit not misbehave when you either dump too much into it at once or put in too much in total. For example this is the basic classic item sorter: And this is the overflow protected version of it: The smaller version only needs one of the to-be-sorted type inside the filter, the bigger one needs 41. But if you put so many of the item into the storage that all the chests and the hoppers leading to them fill up, then the small one not only goes from power level 1 to power level 2, but to power level 3, causing a power level 1 in the second piece of redstone wire of adjacent filters, therefore causing them to push all their filter items into their storage, which causes all further items to not get sorted at all, but get directly dumped into the storage there instead. That quickly leads to the signal of those going to 3, which breaks another filter next to it and so on, it cascades to a big mess to clean up manually. The bigger version however is at power level 2 always and goes to level 3 when an item goes in. But even if items try to go in at infinite speed or when all the chests and hoppers fill up, you still can't get more than 64 of that item in the filter hopper, therefore the power never goes above 3 and it doesn't break the other sorters. Further items simply don't go into the filter and instead continue in the upper hopper line. At the end of it you can build an overflow storage for all items that can't get sorted (like pickaxes), items that don't have a filter (like diorite renamed to "fdjslkfsdv") and items that overflow their storage. And even if that fills up completely and all the hoppers in the upper hopper line fill up, nothing breaks permanently, it just continues sorting when you make space for it. This concept is not limited to sorters, item transport systems can also have overflow protection, farms can shut down as an overflow protection and so on.

You need to update your game. If that doesn’t work, log out of your XBox account, restart the app, and log in again. That should fix it if updating didn’t.

Your public IP address is not the same as your router’s local address. If you open your powershell and enter the command ipconfig you should get a big dump of data with a bunch of internet-looking stuff there. Your router’s local IP (the one you should use in your browser) should be one that ends in a 0 or a 1. Then just use whatever your details are to log in and look for a tutorial on port forwarding for your type of router. By the end of that you should have at least two different open ports: 25565 and 25566 In the Minecraft server config there will be a port value. Change this for the second server so it’s 25566 to match the open port on your router. This should be all you need to do but tell me if I missed something

This is a standard problem in Minecraft, and a known bug. Fix it by pressing F3 + A to refresh your chunks, or failing that, logging out and back in again.

No, this is difficult to do. Every version of Minecraft will run slightly different, and some very different compared to other versions. If you want to play with the most correct mechanics in that specific server, you should use the optimal version that Hypixel (or any server) specifies, otherwise your gameplay might be effected negatively. In fact, some servers won't even allow you to join unless you use their recommended version of Minecraft. As another note, it is a fully serverside choice, meaning you cannot do anything about a server not supporting a version.

Apparently I did miss something. The rest of the tools are actually always active through left-click already. The tool cycling is just for the right-click action.
