Old Win 95 Game runs only at 640*480p. This is only a tiny fraction of my screen

I recently installed an old (1998) game from my childhood. It was designed for Win 95/98 but runs smoothly on Win10. However, its resolution is set to 640x480 and there is no way to change that (there is no settings menu, to begin with). On my 1440p screen this is only a very small rectangle in the middle of the screen and the better part of my screen is just black (see image: https://imgur.com/BDqtLbu )

Is there a way to override the resolution a game is displayed in? Can this be upscaled somehow? I tried to google this but all the issues I found online are not applicable to me.

Check your GPU control panel settings. In the nVidia panel, for example, there is a section "Display > Adjust desktop size and position" with scaling options: "Perform scaling on GPU" & "maintain aspect ratio"

If your account is a trial account, then you can't even add an expansion to the account, so it is completely moot. You need to subscribe, which gives you a non-trial account which includes all expansions through MoP. The unused Wrath of the Lich King expansion is effectively worthless. That key alone will do nothing for a trial account (or a regular subscriber account for that matter, unless it's a special deluxe edition). Don't underestimate the Blizzard support. They can do anything to your account. I had issues in the past with multiple Warcraft accounts on one login, and they were able to move characters around, including a "Recruit a friend" mount reward, disable old accounts, etc.

A

There are really two types of competitive in TF2. The first is the more structured league play that has been done in leagues such as ESEA and UGC for 6+ years now. This involves a lot of coordination outside of the game itself to set up and, depending on the league, may have a lot of item restrictions in place that are enforced by TF2's built-in Tournament Mode settings. The second is more ad hoc Competitive mode that Valve in the game itself. However, this game mode is currently in Beta, which is why you don't see it on the main menu. To gain access to this mode, you need to be given a TF2 Competitive Beta pass or be given one during a random giveaway to members in the Competitive steam group. For Valve's ad hoc system, you basically join a game lobby (which looks a lot like MvM's lobbies) or join a team randomly. Competitive currently only supports 6v6 games, but may expand to the Highlander system later (9v9, 1 of each class). Both the leagues and Valve's Competitive mode have ranks, but only Valve's system is done, more or less, with random people.

Neither method requires WEP nor WPA authorized access to the network, just proximity. In Windows I use Nirsoft WiFi Channel Monitor to expose the MAC's on a particular AP. It's a single file/no installation truly portable app. http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/wifi_channel_monitor.html It requires MS Netmon drivers but they're free and ready to use without a reboot: https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/netmon/p/downloads/ Kismet inside most LIVE Linux Distributions and always inside Kali gives an even broader view. It doesn't sadly. The 0.29.2 (today's release) supports Android Nougat, but as of the current release, it doesn't support split screen.

Basically, if it's not on something like WiiWare, Playstation Network, or Good Old Games, or re-released ala many of the Nintendo era Final Fantasy games, then you're going to have trouble finding copies and the equipment needed to play them. The fact that certain games are simply nearly impossible to purchase anymore is often the excuse for abandonware or ROM sites. It is worth pointing out that if you buy a copy on ebay for $100, the company that owns the game won't actually see any of that money. Whether this goes against your moral compass is up to you. That said, legally, it'd be against the law if you download a game, even if it's not being sold anywhere. Fortunately, more companies are joining the bandwagon of releasing older games for new audiences, so it's become easier to find old games for sale legally.

First of all this ./ is placed behind the name of your executable to ensure that you are running the same within the current directory.Secondly, it is a security method to prevent any harmful program/script from being hosted in the current directory. If there was no need to put ./ would be possible to place malicious scripts within a directory with the following designations ls nano vim ps among others, and when it was to perform ps for example you could be running a completely different command than you would not know your output.I think it's basically this, but I'm waiting for more answers.

You could try setting your monitor scaling mode to 'No-Scaling' via your GPU control panel (this option at least exists within Nvidia Control Panel, not sure about AMD personally), which would mean that when you run a program at a particular resolution your screen would render it is if it were native, and the program in question would be in-set in a smaller window with black borders. This might get around your problem, or at least let you access the options menus in-game. Alternatively, if it is only a problem with changing the resolution, have a hunt around for the configuration files for the game (e.g. in your My Documents folder), as mostly these are human readable so you can modify settings without needing the options in-game.

Games for Windows is simply something that gets put on the box art for some games, to suggest that they should work well with Windows Vista or Windows 7. It is separate from the Games for Windows Live (or GFWL) service which can be used to integrate the game with Xbox-style achievements, online multiplayer, and some DRM capabilities. The retail copies of Call of Duty: World at War is not a GFWL game. You will need to install it with using the CD, and enter the CD Key when appropriate in the installation process. The application you installed was probably the GFWL Store, which is used for buying DLC for various GFWL games (for example, Microsoft Flight). However, this does not have an option to download GFWL games that you've previously linked to your account through a CD key -- you still need to install them in the way you originally did. And in any case, this is not relevant for this game. TL;DR: Use the CD to install your game.

If you're transfering contacts just to back them up, you could try adding your contacts to your Google account, where they are automatically backed up, and you can also view them online, on contacts.google.com
