I often play with players that play as an octoling, but I can't seem to find the option?

Do you need the Octo-expansion to play as an octoling or is the option hidden somewhere?

Yes, you need Octo expansion DLC as far as I remember, and the https://splatoonwiki.org/wiki/Octoling_(playable) seems to confirm that:

Octolings are only available after beating the Octo Expansion DLC.

According to Nintendo, whatever you do in-game, will be saved onto your Nintendo Switch's system memory, therefore allowing you to continue where you left off. Also, your data should still be there even if you buy the digital version of Splatoon, so you can still play where you left off on the cartridge version of the game. You can find even more information about the system's data management on Nintendo's customer support website here.

Most games that use Steam as DRM have been programmed to require authentication only once or once per update. Do you get the same message when trying to play a single-player game? Have you tried the following procedure? 1. Install magicka on all target computers. 2. For each of these computers; a. Connect it to the internet b. Start a game. 3. Repeat step (2) without being connected to the internet. The above method should function provided that the game is not coded to authenticate with each game connection attempt. If it is, you may have to circumvent the authentication procedure through directly modifying the game's code. This may become necessary to get the netplay features of the game working in a future where the authentication server may become unavailable.

200cc is there just for an extra challenge, though the tracks aren't designed around it (for example, you can go out of bounds in Dino Dino Jungle just by launching off a blue ramp). It can also be used to help you get better combos by reducing the time it takes to travel through barren areas, though it's possible to boost your combo time (time allowed between actions in a combo) enough that you can chain miniturbos endlessly. This can be done by choosing gliders that favor the track in question and levelling them up by getting repeats of it.

A full team wipe counts as a loss, even if you meet the egg quota. However, since you are in the final wave, there's no penalty in point reductions. If your team gets wiped out or fails to make your quota during wave 1, you lose 20 points from your Job Score (10% on the points modifier), and none of your previously collected points. If your team loses on the second round, you lose 10 points from your Job Score (5%). If your team loses in the third round, you don't have any penalty.

In order to unlock the hero weapons for use in PvP you must go through Octo Canyon and complete every single mission and boss with the weapon you wish to unlock. For example if you want to get the Hero Dual Splats, you need to complete every mission and boss with the Dual Splats. After you complete all of the levels with the weapon you will unlock the weapon for use in PvP. There is one weapon though that you are unable to unlock right now which is the Hero Brella weapon. When you complete all the levels with the Brella Sheldon will mention that he is still working on this one. Once Nintendo releases the Umbrella weapons the Hero Brella should be unlocked.

The job score is the number of Golden Eggs the team collected, plus the whole number of Power Eggs divided by 200. This number is then multiplied based on each player's pay grade multiplier to form the final "Grizzco points" which are then added to see if the player earns a bonus for their work from Mr. Grizz In the example shown below, the team collected 48 golden eggs and 1978 power eggs (the orange ones). Try backing up the game save and uninstall it from the Playstation. Try then to reinstall the game and see what happens. Also consider buying a cleaning disc. The disc with a little brush on it to clean the lense? If it sounds like the disc is spinning very fast during these freezes then this is likely the cause.

The hint arrows don't appear when you're taking too long. They appear when you get an item or unlock something. Take, for example, getting a key. When you get the key, it will automatically start flashing the arrow in the direction of the vault that key goes to. There is no way to disable them. You just need to get to the objective as fast as possible. As for the Grapplinks, there are always arrows flashing like that for level 6. Level 6 is a pretty challenging level, what with the Octozeppelins, and it is sometimes hard to find where you're going. They just put those in to help you with a challenging level.

Digging around on the web, a lot of sites seem to lead to two things: Marina either defected from the Octoling society, or liked the Inkling better, and decided to stay there. A GameFAQ post discusses this a bit. The Sunken Scrolls in Splatoon 2, specifically, the second scroll which depicts the final battle in Hero Mode between Agent 3 and DJ Octavio (explanation below). The first bullet for the most part speaks for itself, but I think the second bullet is more appropriate and I'll attempt to explain my thoughts. The in game description for this scroll states: Music heads are still buzzing over that legendary underground show two years ago. Anyone lucky enough to catch DJ Octavio's opening set and the Squid Sisters headlining had their minds blown and their lives changed that night. The scroll can be seen below: Circled in the picture, is Marina, which is also noted on the Scrolls Wiki page as well as on Marina's page. Marina was apparently present for the battle between Agent 3 and DJ Octavio. Considering the above description for this scroll which states " Anyone lucky enough to catch DJ Octavio's opening set and the Squid Sisters headlining had their minds blown and their lives changed that night," I think Marina's life changed after this event, and she decided to join the Inkling society.

The cities you are not playing currently are frozen in time. However, if you volunteer your services to another city, that city will be able to use them regardless of the city being active or not. You can absolutely volunteer all of your services to one city, and then change those when you want to work on another city. The only caveat here is that you have to have a road connection to that city in order to volunteer the vehicles. So you cannot volunteer every vehicle in a region to one city. Not all cities have direct connections. It can be a bit annoying because you may not have a direct connection to a city that is right next door. Also, when you volunteer your services to another city that you aren't playing, you get money from that city for the services. I've not seen any situation where you pay money for services volunteered however.

Sub power up does affect bomb launchers, but only under certain conditions. This Squidboard thread says it better than I can: Does Sub Power Up affect Bomb Launcher? <p>Yes, it does but only if you throw it at max range. If you hold R your inkling will throw them at maximum range/speed which will be affected by Sub-Power Up while the R button-mashing that most people use will not be affected by Sub Power Up.</p> It will probably be more effective to use special power up because then you don't have to worry about holding R. You'll be able to get more bombs out, ink more turf, and it's easier to trap someone with your bombs if you're mashing R.

From the Splatoon Wiki The rank meter is represented internally as a number between 0 and 100. The numbers that track filling of the rank meter and those that track cracks are two separate systems; winning matches adds points to the number system that fills the rank meter, while losing adds points to a different number system that contributes to cracks on the meter. A full rank meter is represented by the "fill" number reaching 100, which causes the player to rank up. The rank meter breaks when the "crack" number reaches 100. Every 25 points is equivalent to one crack on the meter. How the player gains points that affect these numbers depends on the probability of winning a match in Ranked, as determined by the game. The number of "fill" points gained for winning a match that the game determined was a likely victory for the player's team will be lower than that gained for one with a lower probability. Conversely, losing a match that the game determines the player had a high chance to win will add a high number of points to the "crack" number compared to one where the player was less likely to win. (emphasis mine) So what the wiki seems to be saying is that the cracks merely serve as a visual indicator for the second number, much like the progress bar. I was unable to find values, but it probably has something to do with the difference between the ranks of each team and not just random chance. To answer your questions: (1) You get a crack for every 25 points in the "crack" number (2) It moves an amount determined by how likely you were to win the game.

You have to back up to a save prior to the end of the game. Unlike Broken Steel in Fallout 3, to play the DLC such as Honest Hearts and Dead Money, you have to do it during the game.
