What file type are Elden Ring saves?

Elden Ring deleted my character and I need to access a backup that I deleted. I know how to use photorec, but I'd like to avoid grabbing everything and the kitchen sink. What filetype are Elden Ring saves as could be identified by Photorec?

Apparently you have to have gone and met her at the Citadel earlier on, and warned her about Kai Leng (she sent an email way earlier on asking to meet). The reason she is dead is because Kai Leng killed her, although it's not very obvious from the scene - the same thing happened to me and it is far too late to save her now.

Short Term Your top priority should be to get 30-40 Vigor to increase your survivability. It's around 30 Vigor that you begin to see a better return on investment from pumping points into health. Around 40 Vigor, you'll have ~1400 HP, which significantly increases your chances of surviving against most mobs. Long Term Invest in either Strength or Dex, depending on the types of weapons you want to use. When inspecting weapons in your inventory, you should see letters below the stat requirements. These denote the weapon's attribute scaling, from E (very poor scaling) to S (very good). In Elden Ring, the Uchigatana has an initial scaling of D/D for Strength and Dexterity, respectively. But according to https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Uchigatana , once upgraded to +25, a standard Uchigatana has a scaling of D/C, making it slightly better for Dex than for Strength. However, this assumes a standard infusion. A Keen ("sharp") +25 Uchigatana has a scaling of A in Dex. Lkewise, a Heavy +25 Uchigatana has a scaling of A in Strength. So the answer is that it depends. Do you want to make a quality build, where you invest an equal number of levels in strength and dex to give yourself access to a wide range of weapons? Or do you want to favor Dex or Strength? That in turn will influence how you infuse your weapon. Something to consider as part of this decision is whether you intend to use the Uchigatana (and similar weapons) on this character, or if you might one day want to use something else. As a rule of thumb: If a weapon is sharp and pointy, it probably scales with Dex. Examples include spears, rapiers, daggers, curved swords, katanas, and other weapons typically associated with agility, like bows. (There are exceptions to this rule, though.) For example, if you browse the Fextralife page on https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Katanas (spoilers!), you'll find that most of them scale with Dex.

Yes, this is entirely possible, you just have to move the .craft file from one save folder to the other. Inside the KSP directory, you should be able to find the ship you created in career inside the $KSP$/saves//Ships/ folder. Ships created in the space plane hanger will be in the SPH subfolder, while ships created in the VAB will be in the VAB subfolder.

In the comments, you indicate that you "just want to see [what] all the global variables are." In general, the easiest way to do this is to open the various ESP/ESM files in xEdit, which is a third-party modding tool. Although it is designed for modifying these files, it will give a very prominent warning before it actually lets you change anything, so it's perfectly usable as a viewer as well. Once you've loaded Skyrim.esm and the DLC into xEdit, you can expand each of the ESP/ESM files in the panel on the left, which will show a list of categories. Expanding a category shows a list of individual records: This image is showing Fallout 3, but the same app also works on Skyrim's plugin files. Under the "Global Variables" category, there will be one record for each global variable. Clicking a record will display it in the area to the right of the navigation tree. For a global variable, it will tell you the name of that variable and the value it has at the start of the game. For other records, you will usually see a much larger amount of information. Clicking the "Referenced By" tab at the bottom will also tell you about all the places where other records use the global variable in some way. If you don't want to download third-party software, you can instead use the official Creation Kit (install via Steam under "Tools" for the original Skyrim, or from the Bethesda Launcher for the Special Edition). It also organizes data into categories and records. You'll find the list of global variables under Miscellaneous / Global. Unfortunately, running the CK is a bit tricky for multiple reasons: It won't let you load multiple files. It won't let you load DLC, because that requires loading both the DLC file and Skyrim.esm. It crashes if you look at it funny. Depending on your setup, various bits of functionality might be broken (particularly related to Papyrus scripting). You probably don't need to care about this just to look at the list of globals. These problems are fixable; see particularly this mod and this thread on Nexusmods. In short, you need to fiddle around with skyrimeditor.ini because its default values are (in many places) incorrect or otherwise problematic.

Nope, you're up the creek. Save game files are locked to the region of the disk (at least in the cases I've dealt with). You could try logging a support request with the developer to see if they can help you out. Some game saves are locked to region, others to the PSN account name, and I'

If you find yourself managing save files often, you could give MASGAU a try. It is a save-file manager that can scan your drive for saves, so you could use it to find your saves (if they are still existing). Always make backups! (BTW MASGAU's primary function is backup & restore of save files).

There is a loading screen tip that suggests that you should dodge monsters and block/parry humans. However, many have found this does not tell the full story. Much like how many enemies can parry your fast attacks but can be broken through with a heavy attack or otherwise, parrying works for many enemies' faster, lighter attacks. For example, with the Drowners and Ghouls, you should be able to parry their regular attacks. However, their heavier attacks--jump attacks, in this case--cannot be, so you'll just need to get out of the way with a dodge or roll. This applies to other enemies. An intuitive rule of thumb is that any enemy attack that has a considerable windup/charge or sense of impact probably can't be blocked or parried. It seems obvious that you should dodge or roll against very large monsters, but you should probably also do so against enemies with heavier/larger weapons (including humans with two-handed weapons and the Wild Hunt) which will stun you on parries instead of opening a window for you to riposte, so dodging here is a good choice for counterattacks. Regarding attacks that you can't parry: dodging is also helpful for sidestepping single heavy attacks/charges or backstepping short attacks/lunges and taking advantage of your position to get critical or followup hits. The game also encourages a more conservative usage of rolling given its effect on stamina, so rolling is best used to avoid sustained attacks (namely the Wraiths) or area-of-effect attacks (which I believe golems may perform) or just regain some space. In general, I've found that you can parry basic attacks from many roughly man-sized enemies, including Nekkers and Wraiths. I can't give you much more detail or specific monsters, but you should have the opportunity to test this against an unfamiliar enemy early on in a fight (activating Quen first, if you wish) by attempting to block or parry a single enemy's lighter attack. If you take damage or Quen deactivates, you'll know that enemy's attack can't be parried. Experimenting will give you a better sense and knowledge of this, however you should be aware that there are enemies that also react differently to ripostes; some hags will have their tongues cut off with a riposte which makes them much easier to kill. In short: basic attacks (like swipes) from medium to small enemies are often able to be parried, and special/strong attacks generally need to avoided by dodging/rolling regardless of whether it's a monster or human. Lastly, the health bar glowing red indicates the enemy is beginning an attack, but depending on your situation, parrying immediately may or may not work. If you tap to parry, it will likely work against faster attacks but a slower strong attack may land well after the parry "window" ends. It may be better to use the healthbar indicator to dodge/roll or even block, and watch the enemy's weapon (or fists) to time your parries.

There is no good reason not to do this. You can kill all merchants to have all their stuff at the Twin Maidens. I do it in all my playthrough and I always was able to finish the game. And like that no forth and back to those merchants in the map. All at the same location. You can still sell your stuff to the Blacksmith in the Round Table Hold

There are a couple of incentives to helping the Host of Fingers defeat the area boss. You gain a portion of the runes acquired when the boss is defeated. This amount appears to be about 1/4th of the number of runes the Host of Fingers gets. For example, if you help someone defeat https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Margit,+the+Fell+Omen in Stormveil Castle on a non-NG+ run, you'll receive around 3,750 runes (or 1/4th of 15,000). You also gain a https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Rune+Arc . This is the typical multiplayer-related reward when a summoned player (ally or adversary) completes their goal. Additionally, while not an explicit benefit, the helpers may also get a sense of accomplishment by helping out struggling players, if the monetary rewards aren't enough to incentivize them.

Applying protection to a message prevents it from being automatically deleted whenever you place a new one down once you've hit the maximum number of messages for your character. After some tests, it seems that the maximum number of messages a player can place is 10. Once you've reached 10 messages placed, attempting to place another down will delete one of your previously placed messages in order to not exceed the maximum amount. Marking one of your messages as protected ensures that it won't be automatically deleted by this process. You can only mark 9 of your messages as protected. One of your messages has to be eligible for deletion should you try to place another message down.

Looks like the effect you gain from the rune weather event. I think it happens when you see golden leaves falling in an area. If you are in this area, you gain a buff that increases the amount of runes obtained. I see the gold leaves on your screenshot's background as well

You would not be able to acquire two gestures: Extreme Repentance is the first one and requires you to win the first Patches fight, initiate another and then surrender. Patches' Crouch is the second one and it's only available when you complete his entire quest line.
