PS4 controller on PS3 not working

When I plug it into the PS3 it dosen't work/light up. Everywhere else it works, bluetooth also works. I have tried resetting the control via the thing in the back plugging it in and out.

The PS4 DualShock controller cannot be connected to the PS3 through a wired connection, only through a bluetooth one. sorry.

Unless Sony made the controllers send the same signals and have the same connectors there's no way that a PS2 can talk to a device created in the future without some intermediate hardware (as you suggest). However, it's not really in Sony's interest to do this themselves. Wiki Answers and Answer Bag would appear to agree with me. Though you're not the only one suggesting this. Though I don't see any answers that suggest how it might be done. Some sort of device like the USB to PS/2 converter you can get for PC mice and keyboards is what you need.

The Xbox One cannot directly accept input from an Xbox 360 controller - however, with Windows 10, there is a work around. Windows 10 allows you to set up your Xbox One to stream to your computer. While streaming to your computer, you are directed to connect the controller into the computer, not the Xbox One. In this form, Xbox 360 controllers will work for playing Xbox One games. You can directly plug in a wired controller, or use an adapter, if you are using the wireless controllers.

I'm copying @Cole's own answer: One of the reasons this could have been happening was because I was using and extension cord that is built into my keyboard. I also switched from a USB 2.0 header to a 3.0 header.

Once you added the PS+ game to your library, you can download and play it any time, as long as you still have PS+. If you stop having PS+, you can no longer play/download the game AFAIK.

Try the following: Turn on your PS4 Connect the DualShock 4 controller to your PS4 using the USB cable Press the PS button on the DualShock 4 and wait for the controller to connect Unplug the DualShock 4 controller and it should be synced with the PS4 Failing that, try the DualShock 4 reset button: Turn off the PlayStation 4. Locate the small reset button on the back of the DualShock 4 near the L2 shoulder button. Use a small, unfolded paper-clip or something similar (but not a pin) to push the button (the button is inside a tiny hole). Hold the button down for a couple of seconds and release. Then follow the above steps again.

I have not found a software only fix, but apparently there is now a wireless USB dongle for the DualShock 4, compatible with both PC and Mac. It allows full use of all the DS4's functions on both platforms as far as I know, including the touch pad and the headphone jack.

No, this isn't possible. The moment the second person logged into the same account, the first person would be forcibly logged out. This has happened to me with my friends who have PS4s I've logged into in the past. It will kick your friend offline even if you're not playing online, too. (I was kicked out of a Dark Souls III boss when my friend was trying to do local multiplayer with a friend in Rocket League with my account)

PSR stands for Personal Skill Rating. Pretty similar to other fighting games, it's simply a value attached to your performance in ranked matches. It serves the purpose of giving players a quick sense at how good or how much another player has played, and it's likely used as a metric for pairing similarly-skilled players in ranked matchmaking. It's kind of hard to attach specific values to winning and losing though, since the amount of point you gain are dynamic and end up slowing greatly once you get into the range of about 85-115 wins. You stand to lose points when you lose a match so your PSR can be adjusted to a level where you'd be more likely to get matched up with someone at a similar skill level to you, and the opposite is true for winning. It's a good, quick, reference for telling which players are at the top of the ladder and giving you a sense of your odds for winning a match; e.g. if another player has a couple hundred PSR more than you, then it's likely they've put more time in and/or are better than you.

It means it heals you for 20% of the Damage actually done to the monsters. If you hit for 100 Damage you get healed 20 HP.

How can I change it to PS3 prompts? You can't. The overwhelming majority of games are designed for XBOX controller prompts. Why, you ask? Simple, a majority of people us an XBOX controller over a PS3 controller because there are officially supported windows drivers and the Games for Windows certification program requires XBOX controller support. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/ee417691(v=vs.85).aspx#tr_1_4 Requirement Games that support gamepad controllers must support the Xbox 360 Controller for Windows using the XInput API. If DirectInput peripherals are also supported, then DirectInput can also be used. However, XInput must be the default API if an Xbox 360 compatible device is used. All references to common controller triggers and buttons must use the Xbox 360 names. See the Xbox 360 Common Controller for Windows Terminology list for details. Controller vibration must be turned off when the game is in a paused or suspended state. Mouse/keyboard control cannot be fully disabled at any time. At a minimum, an option to return to game menus must be available. Rationale This requirement gives gamers freedom of choice to use either the Xbox 360 controller or the keyboard and mouse, depending on which input method is more natural and intuitive interface. Additional Information This requirement does not apply to games that use only the mouse and/or the keyboard. PS3 racing wheels aren't supported by the PS4, it seems developers can write support drivers directly into their games, but it doesn't seem any game has that funtionality right now. DriveClub currently supports two racing wheels. These are new wheels designed specifically with support the PS4 but they support the PS3 as well. These seem to be the only PS4 racing wheels available. The Crew FAQ states that If your steering wheel is supported by your PC/PS4/Xbox One then it should work for the game.. So I guess both of these wheels should work with it as well (Note: this FAQ was published in Nov 2013, things might've changed until the game's release. NFS Rivals doesn't seem to support racing wheels at all.

You want the Xbox 360 Wireless Controller for Windows, it comes with the wireless USB receiver. Once you have one of those you can use any Xbox 360 controller with it. After my Xbox 360 died I bought one of those controllers (basically just to get the receiver) and my two existing 360 controllers work with it too. Microsoft used to sell the USB receiver dongle separately but no longer.

You're correct in your assumption that they do not share the "feelings" or affection statistics. There is a limit to one Cartel Pack or Gree Reputation "spaceship pet" and one non-spaceship (creature, droid) pet out at a time, in addition to your active companion. There is no effective limit on how many you can own. They cannot be levelled or upgraded at this time. The training droid is an item rather than a pet, and does not join in combat but simply can be used to place an effect around your target. There are no pets that provide combat damage or anything outside of audio/visuals at this time, and doubt they will add such features since our companions fill this role. These items are mostly for visual appeal and to add to the game world, possibly for role-play elements as well. Hopefully this answers your questions Matthew , may the force be with you....

There is no parry in Street Fighter IV. Something similar is Focus Attack. Focus attack doesn't require a perfect timing which you need in parry. Also, you can`t parry all upcoming attacks and you are not invincible when doing it. To do a Focus Attack, press and hold Medium Punch + Medium Kick at the same time and your character will start charging. There are a lot of differences between focus attack and parry: Focus attack is an offensive move that can stun the opponent. It has three different "levels" depending on how long you've held it and only crumples ("stuns") if it's a counterhit (level 1), unblocked (level 2), or always (level 3). Focus attack doesn't completely negate the damage, you absorb it into your health bar as recoverable health. You should not focus when low on life, as you will die if you take 200% of your current HP as "recoverable" damage. You can only focus one attack, so moves which hit twice or just a couple of jabs or short will be able to penetrate the focus. Throws, command grabs, and many ultras and specials that are called armorbreakers which will hit you regardless of focus. When this happens you'll hear a sound like a pane of glass shattering. In order to cancel the Focus Attack, right after the parry, for instance, keep Medium Punch and Medium Kick pressed down and dash forward or backward. If you land a L3 focus attack or any other focus that crumples, you should immediately dash towards your opponent and execute your most powerful combo, ultra, etc. This is a great chance to deal damage.
