Best Examples of User Journey/Interface for Data Catalogues

  • I am designing a data catalogue for urban data (spatio-temporal data). Data is very varied, has different spatial coverage, collection period/availability, access rights, etc. The aim is to design it in a way that the user (technical and non-technical) find the data they are looking for easily. The first thing that comes to my mind for user journey is shopping website-style interface but was wondering if you know of any good examples of data catalogue designs or any good tips/guides for designing data catalogues.

Edited: one example I found is https://climate.esa.int/en/odp/#/dashboard .

  • When you mentioned urban data, it reminds me of property assessment. This includes property data, such as land size, year built etc.

If so, a great example would be BC Assessment https://www.bcassessment.ca/

Users can search by address or map. enter image description here

There are also other useful features such as comparisons between properties: enter image description here
