how to stop google's phone app of being auto allowed to display over the apps?

i have a poco x3 nfc with arrowsOs android 11. I use google's vanilla phone app as my default phone app. I don't want to have a bubble when minimizing my phone app. for this, i go to app info > display over the other apps and disable it. but for some reason after some time (absurdly random periods, from seconds to hours) the app always returns to be allowed to display over the other apps. i would like to understand if this is mandatory or if it's optional, how can i disable it

If you have root access, make Google Dialer a user app. Currently it is in system/priv-app.

It could work, but a better way is to keep your settings in one screen. Use a show/hide advanced settings toggle. This way the user can see all settings in one view. It is easier to compare settings because the user does not have to switch screens and remember his settings from the previous screen. There's a chance the user will forget his settings and has to switch back and forth a lot. Summary: The human brain is not optimized for the abstract thinking and data memorization that websites often demand. Many usability guidelines are dictated by cognitive limitations. See image below. The user sees basic settings as a default but can toggle advanced settings by clicking the 'show advanced' link. Also provide a message warning users about the advanced settings. An example is Plex Media Server. Users can run the server without knowledge of advanced settings. It will work, but there's a 'show/hide advanced' toggle if users want to use the advanced settings.

On the RAZR, it's separate from the display timeout. It's in "Security->Automatically lock". Not sure if that is unique to the RAZR or not. If you have the SDK installed, it might be possible to push an alternate property with "adb shell setprop", but it would not be persistent across reboots.

I would recommend you integrate it into the profile settings. However, I would suggest you move the "change profile picture" block upward to the top so it is more prominent on the page. As you have already said, you already have a large list of settings and I believe the "change profile picture" block is simple enough to not require its own tab. Happy Coding

Yeah it is Possible. I think you are developing your app using Android Studio. In Android Studio go to the option Build -> Build APK for building your app. Then you can share your app with your friends. But Android requires that all APKs be digitally signed with a certificate before they can be installed. So you need to sign your app. Here is a tutorial for building signed app. Then Click on Build -> Build signed APK for building your app.

Change your password, if somebody tries to use the account it will ask you to enter the new password. You can also try: https://www.google.com/android/devicemanager That's for security. As for not being able to login on the new phone, that sounds very fishy, so I would contact Google, or the manufacturer of your new phone.

In-App purchases come in a wide range including unlocking features, making donations, adding bonus content and buying specific items but they all fall under the single permission. I've also seen them broken down as: Permanent enhancements to the app, Expendable updates (i.e. extra lives or tokens), Subscriptions, and Auto-renewing subscriptions If the type of in-app purchases are not listed in the description of the app or in any reviews for the app I would ask the developer via email. Other than that you would have to download it to find out.

No, Force stop doesn't stop the app running again. It just interrupts it if it's running right now. It doesn't free up any internal storage. It doesn't make any difference to RAM usage: Android will already kill background processes to free up RAM when it needs to, without you pressing Force stop. As Izzy suggests, try pressing Disable if you're running a recent enough Android version to have that button: it's on the App info screen, right next to Force stop. (You might first have to Uninstall updates.) This will remove the system app from the app drawer, stop it running completely, and stop it being updated. If you're on an older Android version, you can uninstall the app completely only if you root the device and use a third-party app to do so.

There are multiple ways to clear the default action app: you already noticed it gets cleared when the corresponding app is deleted same applies if you install another app that could perform the same action there's a menu in settings where you can clear the default without (un)installing an app. Unfortunately, it's hard to find. Before Android 7 it had an own menu entry in settings. Since Android 7, you need to go to Settings › Apps, tap the app's entry, and will find if it's set as default. With that option you can also made it the default, or remove it from being default.

Thanks to Samsung non standard implementation, OP couldn't factory-reset and encrypt before selling. They couldn't : Check if the device was encrypted Locate the option for encryption Steps advised : Install minimal adb on your laptop (Is there a minimal installation of ADB?) and check device encryption status (Is there a way for a user to tell if their Android device is encrypted or not?).
