One-time-only alarms?

I would like a way to set one-time-only alarms, that is, alarms that would self delete after being dismissed.

It seems there's no way to do that with the native Clock app by Google (I'm using a Pixel phone). Is there?

Alternatively, do you know any apps on Google Play that have that feature?

With the Google Clock app, the alternative is to https://support.google.com/assistant/answer/9275058?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DAndroid#zippy=%2Con-a-phone-or-tablet .

Saying "Set an alarm at [hour] [minutes]" will set a one-time alarm, and it will be automatically removed after dismissing it.

Say: "Okay Google, set a timer". When it prompts you for the duration, there will be an option somewhere on the screen where you can click and select a different timer app.

These Chinese originated ROMs have a Win installer in them, if you tap the CDRom icon on ur PC it will install a " partner" Win app on your PC. Just ignore it! When you connect your Phone to PC under the ADB settings notification just tick connect as USB storage and the next time you reconnect ur phone ( depending on the ROM) it will appear as another 2 or 1 additional USB drive. Mine is a home cooked Lenovo Vibe 2.0 ROM (S939) and Lenovo has in most of its ROM this Win app installers. But I don't use them because they are cumbersome Chinese chracters only app. I used MOBOROBO if you happen to transfer file a lot from external sdcard.

I've got the same problem and the annoying sound can not be found in /System/media/audio/, but in /system/app/DeskClock.apk/assets/sounds/Timer_Expire.ogg. From @eldarerathis -- Do you have busybox installed? Have you tried mount -o bind /path/to/dir1 /path/to/dir2 (I think the busybox version supports that on Android)?

Two steps to speed the Linux kernel boot: Configure the Linux kernel with a minimal set of device drivers, that is, only the drivers need to boot and load the root filesystem. Every driver, filesystem, or subsystems that can be built as a module (that you want in the kernel but not used during boot) should be configured as a module rather than statically linked in. To see how much time is used in loading drivers during boot, you should modify the kernel command line with the option "initcall_debug". This will cause timing information to be printed to the console for each initcall. initcalls are used to initialize statically linked kernel drivers and subsystems, and contribute a significant amount of time to the Linux boot process. Reconfiguring any unneeded drivers to loadable modules will subtract that initcall time from the kernel boot time. Modify the kernel command line with the option "quiet". This will disable most of the output of log messages to the console. Of course this should only be done after you have a stable kernel. More techniques are here

As long as the alarm in fact snoozed and didn't get turned off I'd think you'd be safe, just maybe a bit later than normal. I can't find any other info about how to force alarms to play over notifications or of anyone else having the issue. If you're worried you could silence your phone at night, then notifications would be silent but the alarm would still go off.

Keep your phone charged up This is a solution I found after experimenting a bit. It seems that if the phone is plugged to a power source the entire night, then it will correctly wake up to ring the alarm at the right time. This is obviously not the most convenient solution nor does it really explain why this solves the problem.

As you've said it is "incredibly cheap, all-around low quality phone" yes there are chances of overheating and all. I suggest you to charge it only at nights as you need it only for alarm.

As suggested by @beeshyams, I search my app with the keyboard clock. Then, I found an app which set the wake-up alarm at 08:30 am. Very strange, this app does not show in the RECENT APP list after alarm ringing.

The screen resolution of the HTC One is 1080 x 1920 pixels. This is also the same resolution when you trigger a screenshot on the phone.

You didn't mention which version of Android you are running, but I believe this will work in most modern versions. The exact location within the settings may change depending on version and device manufacturer. If you go in to Settings -> Battery and then select an app, you get some or all of the following details: CPU total time in seconds Keep awake time in seconds Data send Data received I believe these details are valid from the last time the device booted.

There are custom kernels supporting the HTC logo as a button. You might e.g. want to check tbaldens kernel @ XDA, which is available in different variants underlying the logo with different features: HOME2Wake and HTCLogo2Sleep HOME2Wake and HTCLogoMenu Watch the videos over at XDA-Developers to see how it works. It is not the combination you asked for, but maybe that one was added later as a variant (another dev continued with a fork in this second thread, which lists a few more details), or you can ask the dev to do so.

Assuming you're on a network that is available on the location you are going to, you could check the Automatic date and time setting under Date and time settings. That should update the time accordingly.

Do I just have something disabled that is preventing it from waking up? There's no user-visible setting in Android for disabling alarms. That would kind of defeat their purpose! The only way you can have disabled alarms is if you've rooted the device and gone around uninstalling system apps or poking at the internals. If you have, we'd need to know a lot more detail on what you've done to know if that's the cause, and the fix would probably be to flash a new ROM. This does sound like the kind of system integration error you might find on an incredibly cheap tablet. Not quite a hardware issue, but a bug in the device's software. If it is, the only way to fix it would be to try to get an update from the manufacturer, but if you don't even know who they are, you might be out of luck.
