Bluetooth -- is there a regional difference in implementation?

I have a new Sony Xperia 5 III

The bluetooth on it acts really funny. For example, when I get into the car, the car often fails to pair up with it, and I often have to go into the phone and manually connect the bluetooth. (No other phone, Android or iPhone, has this issue in my car.)

When I paired up with a megaboom speaker today, it took two tries, which never happens with the megaboom.

What do we think is going on?

Answer: The Sony Xperia 5 III just has bluetooth problems with some systems.

There does not seem to be a fix. The fix is to use a different make and model of phone.

You could simply use a bluetooth/wifi mouse app like PRemoteDroid. There are a bunch of others, and generally speaking they just allow your device to be used as a mouse/keyboard input. If you can pair with your PC it should work, although I've never tried it myself (I do use PRemoteDroid to pair with and remotely control my Xoom, though; works great). Another option would be some kind of VNC or remote desktop client, but that's not as lightweight and some of them don't support Linux (Splashtop, for example, doesn't have a Linux server, IIRC).

I assume you're referring to the 2012 version of the Nexus 7? Although the hardware is capable of supporting Bluetooth LE (as suggested by the link in your question), Google never certified it as such and so the stock ROM does not support it. There is an answer to a similar question on stackoverflow which appears to suggest that CyanogenMod (and maybe other custom ROMs) has added support for Bluetooth LE on the 2012 Nexus 7.

I solved this by turning off Wifi on my phone. Not sure why having Wifi turned on would be a problem, but I don't get any skipping when Wifi is off.

I had the same issue... two parts to my solution... - set Smartlock to unlock phone when BT keyboard connects - then any key wakes to Notifications screen... then 'space-tab' key combination opens the phone to current android screen... found by trial and error!

Those numbers you mentioned are the bytes of InputStream each number is an array byte byte[], that array can be text, image, files, video. I guess a medical device sends text, but I don't know. Try to convert the bytes array into text (String), and if it is not possible you will have to consult some guide for connection with devices like these to know what to convert the array. For low GPU workloads, the only sensible metric is power consumption. If the frame time is always less than 1/60 s, then changes in frame time won't affect the visual appearance of the app, so neither frame time nor FPS provide any useful information. You can't usefully measure power consumption from a user-space benchmark: you need either kernel hooks (such as are used by the Android battery use chart) or a hardware power probe. Note that it's important to measure the power consumption of the whole system, not just the GPU. It's almost always possible to shift work between the CPU and GPU, and you may find that certain GPU performance techniques actually increase CPU power consumption, so you need the total power in order to see the whole picture. Note also that you need to measure the power consumption over all time, not just while the frame is rendering. Consider two power policies: one always runs the GPU at full speed while there is work to do, but if the frame is quick to render, it's only for a very short burst; the other turns down the GPU speed to reduce power consumption such that the frame is always ready just in time. Sampling power use, or measuring it only while the frame is being rendered, will make the first policy look more power-hungry, but it might in fact use less power overall, because it can run in short bursts. In short, power profiling is a big topic, and choosing the right workload is only a small part of it. You really need to understand what you're trying to optimize for, and that's not always frame time.

Because some Android phones/tablets ECT sometimes needs a better Wi-Fi connection if that isn't the case then the Android is either not picking up the signal or... Your Android s not compatible with that Bluetooth

Short Answer: You can not see speed when transferring files via bluetooth. Long Answer: Android OS by default does not have an interface for Bluetooth transfer speed or show it during the data transfer. In most cases only transfer progress will be available. Bluetooth Broadcast Receiver only exposes RSSI or link quality and you need to do your own calculation of speed for each RSSI range.

I would assume that the different maximum up/dl speed are a result of different LTE implementations. LTE exists in quite a few versions with different capabilities regarding the maximum transmission speed and how many channels can be aggregated. For example the value DL/UL as 102400/51200 seems to be LTE Cat 3 (100 Mbit/s down, 50 Mbit/s up). My guess is that you can't change it because the value depends on the used LTE hardware in the phone (and of course the used mobile network). Last but not least some data plans limit the maximum download/upload speed. The values shown by your Realme 8 30MBit down and 15MBit/s to not correspond to an LTE category. The next matching one would be LTE Cat 2 with 50 Mbit/s down and 25 Mbit/s up. So most likely this is a limitation of the used data plan or the phone shows the effective transmission speed which is limited by the signal strength. Conclusion: No you can't change the values via adb as this is either a hardware limitation by your phone, the mobile network or of your data plan.

Most Bluetooth speakers (not all) have a 3.5mm jack for the sole purpose of audio out, not audio in. Because of this, audio can not be sent to the Bluetooth speaker via auxiliary cable to be played, because the speaker's sole purpose is to output audio over a Bluetooth connection or through headphones in the speaker's 3.5mm jack. My suggestion is to gain access to a device with Bluetooth and connect to the speaker to play music. Once this is done, connect headphones to the 3.5mm jack in the speaker and see if the sound is played through the headphones, as opposed to sound coming directly from the speaker. If sound does play through the headphones, then you've found your solution.

Please note, this solution will work on SOME Android phones, but not all of them. As of right now your best bet is to make a group. Go to Contacts or People (depends on phone), view your groups, and then create a new one (usually done by selecting menu and then Add Group. Then add the contacts you want to that group (it might be easiest to go online from a computer and do this. Then go into the settings of your groups or from the main contact screen and see if you can only show that group as visible. On my phone I cannot select individual groups to show and not show. But I think other Android phones can do this. Look for a "View" option.

No. I went ahead and downloaded my master playlist that contains all my songs, then the other playlists. The latter all took zero time, indicating the songs were not downloaded twice
