Choice of router model with support from the OpenVPN client

  • Help is needed to select a router model with the support of the OpenVPN client.

    Main requirements of OpenVPN client:

    • Support to AES-256-CBC
    • Support for SHA512
    • TCP support (Transporters supported only UDP)

What was found and rejected: DD-WRT didn't like it. What other options?

    1. The router requirements usually indicate the number of ports, capacity, type of interfaces (Ethernet / SFP / SFP+ / Wi-Fi 2 / wi-Fi 5), performance (in pillar 19), as a box on the wall, as a box on the table)

    2. OpenVPN feels better when it works UDP.

    3. You can take virtually any widely used router and put the OpenWRT in it.

    4. Practically any computer or single-pa can be used (if a bunch of ports are not needed) and placed on it the same OpenWrt or pfSense.

    5. Finally, there's a whole bunch of microtics.
