Do experience gain bonuses from items and the Adventurer ability stack in Torchlight? Do experience gain bonus items worn on my pet add to my experience gain as well?

Experience gain from items on a pet do not stack or affect your character in any way.

Bonuses from items and the adventurer skill stack in this way:

If you have +10% from the adventurer skill, +2% from a ring, and +5% from a necklace, your experience gain will be 10+2+5=17%.

Yes, that means that 10% of your weapon's damage will be applied to this magical attack. Therefore, wielding a stronger weapon will yield more damage from this spell. When it comes to dual wielding, the effects vary, there's a list of the Alchemist skills that benefit from dual wielded weapons on this Torchlight Wiki. According to one Torchlight wiki, your weapon attributes impact your spell attributes in the following way: Mana and health steal are ''never'' triggered by these skills. "Ranged Damage" effects do not stack with any of these skills. Weapon speed has no effect. Knock back is hit-or-miss; works with some skills but not others. Fixed damage bonuses (i.e. "+100 ELEMENT Damage") are ''extremely'' buggy; on some skills they have 100% effect, on some skills they have none. Skills that supposedly add 20% weapon damage are in both categories, even when the damage bonus is on a weapon. They do not work on Pyre. Innate weapon damage is also rather hit-or-miss; several skills that say they do 20% of weapon damage actually do none. The damage bonus from weapons is not based on DPS; it uses only the actual listed per-hit damage values. Having said that, multiple damage types DO stack, so if you have a weapon with 100 Fire damage and 100 Poison damage, Ember Bolt gets 40 damage added to it, not 20. This is not how most people thought it worked. When dual wielding, only the highest damage appears to be used (this is per-hit damage, not DPS). They do not appear to be averaged, added, or alternated; the damage is consistent. But still, it's only 20%. You're almost certainly better off concentrating on getting a weapon with effects that stack with the skills, rather than the actual damage output of the weapon. Percent damage bonuses (i.e. "Increases ELEMENT Damage 10%") work on everything ... except Pyre. Critical Chance/Critical Damage bonuses work on everything ... except Pyre. Unfortunately, actual data about the game mechanics and formulae is spotty at best and outdated at worst.

In short: you should be dual-wielding if you have an off-hand weapon with many powerful effects; otherwise use a shield. When dual-wielding the effects from both weapons are added together and applied with each attack. So if your off-hand pistol has +X life-steal, then all of your attacks will have life-steal. However, DPS is only the better of the two weapons (discovered with a little testing). Attack speed averages because attacks alternate between the two wielded weapons, each taking the time of the respective weapon. For example, if you have a quick pistol but a slow wand, the pistol attacks will happen very quickly after each wand attack, but wand attacks will happen slowly after each pistol attack. What this means is that you should only dual-wield if you have an off-hand with a fast attack speed and many useful effects. The Dual-Wield skill increases damage significantly, but it is geared towards Berserker as most of his skills add the DPS of both weapons to skill damage. Being an Alchemist, this skill should not interest you nor affect your decision. Usually the defense of an off-hand shield is more valuable than a weapon that only adds its value in effects. Also, as your mana regeneration increases you will be using only skills, meaning your weapon is never used whereas a shield is (passively).

The basic answer to this question lies here, at Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls Guide: Damage Formula Explained. In summary, certain types of multipliers are added together, and then all multipliers are multiplied together. The basic rule is that everything is multiplied together. Most factors start at 100%, and have multipliers added on. For example, +40% physical damage results in a 1.4 multiplier, and +20% primary skill damage results in a 1.2 multiplier when using that skill. Note that some multipliers are added together before the final calculation. For example, elemental damage, native weapon damage, and skill damage modifiers are added together to a base 100%. So, to give numbers to the pieces you've included: (90 * Weapon Damage) * 1.4 * (1 + 0.25 + 0.15). When you get a critical, which will occur, on average, according to your critical hit chance, then the 400% damage is multiplied in as 5 (base 100% + 400% additional). So, if your weapon's minimum damage is 100, your total minimum damage would be 17,640. On a critical, your minimum damage would be 88,200 for that hit. Note that other factors are in play in terms of your "character sheet" damage, such as the speed factor (so, your character sheet damage is balanced to give an average damage per second value). Doing this allows you to compare slower and faster weapons fairly, because you'll see the actual raw output from each weapon in a comparable fashion.

You can assign anything to hotkeys: click any of the hotbar slots and select the spell or scroll: Now, when you press the number assigned to the hotbar slot (in this case, 7), it'll cast the spell.

This is not an exhaustive list, and it's subject to change. It's just what I've found so far. Greed stacks multiplicatively with itself and Trick Greed. Two copies of Greed make each nugget worth 40 instead of the 30 you would expect from additive stacking. Trick Greed seems to make more nuggets, but I can't tell how it stacks. I had Attract Gold at the time, and it made counting difficult. Strong Levitation stacks, but without numbers to check it's hard to tell how. One downside is that it doesn't increase how fast your levitation meter refills. So the more copies you have, the longer you have to wait for it to fill. Faster Movement definitely stacks as of February 16, 2020. Not sure if it's multiplicative or additive. Not sure if Faster Swimming stacks. Perk Lottery stacks multiplicatively. Each copy improves your odds of the other perks remaining, but there's always a chance of losing them. It's never a guarantee. Extra Perk always adds one perk to the list. Be careful, picking it too many times makes it hard to pick the perk you want. The pedestal gets crowded and it's easy to accidentally grab the wrong one. Picking it twice is about the limit if you want to keep it easy. Personal shield seems to stack. I can't guarantee it, but it does feel more effective. Maybe it's just wishful thinking. As of February 16, 2020, Don't Skip Leg Day definitely stacks. I have 3 copies of it, and when I kick exploding boxes they fly away crazy fast. They're off the screen in just a few frames, even if they bounce off a wall along the way. Extra Health per Heart doesn't stack, though I'm told it used to. Maybe it will again some day. As of October 21, 2020, More Love stacks. 4 copies makes medic hiisi heal you.

It seems pretty clear on the TripWire forums that this problem is related to it being on Mac. And from looking there and reading what others have to say, the problem has existed for years now. It's probably pretty safe to assume that TripWire has no intention of fixing this given their track record. I guess the work-around is to use Windows or to buy games from legitimate companies.

Items in this game are in random arrangement (in the order you acquire them perhaps) and cannot be sorted or stacked. Don't bother organizing your inventories. Just store the items (vulneraries). Trick: give your characters weapons, then give them back their vulnerary. It really doesn't look like vulneraries can restack. No matter what I try. It hasn't been a mechanic in other games either. (Edit: it was definitely a thing in Shadow Dragon and Awakening — reports scohe001) Trick #2: Equip/unequip stuff on a character to get items in at least some semblance of order. (Armor first, then weapons, or best>good>okay>bad, or what ever organizational system you like.) But, good news; they take up almost no space whatsoever. All stack into one item slot in the end, so in total there will be just 4 rusted weapon stacks. Hoard one of each weapon type as they can be useful later. Don't bother to sell them, you only get ~1g. Waste of time for not much space freed at all.

Trying to build an answer, I just tried and checked in the stats view to see what was going on after each action (Lot of question marks remaining for now but already some answers). A

Clicking doesn't increase your CpS if that's what you're thinking; it means that if every time you manually clicked it would give you 20 cookies, and your CPS was 100, clicking now gives you 21 cookies. This scales up as your CpS increases. So if you buy another building and get 200CpS, your clicks now generate 22 cookies each.

Found something that may be of use. Torchlight - Better Balanced Sale Prices Mod This mod offers exactly what the title says--better balanced sale prices. Vendors now offer more gold in exchange for your items, so selling rare and unique equipment no longer leaves you feeling like you've been kicked in the teeth. EDIT: Another possibility is to use them as fodder for the "Enchantment Overload" Steam achievement (enchant an item 10 times). If you succeed, you'll have a highly enchanted rare item in your hands; if it gets disenchanted, it doesn't matter, because you had a spare.

This doesn't answer your question per se, but I think you may find it helpful: If you hold down the Shift key, clicks will always attack rather than moving; attacks will be aimed in the direction of the cursor. I don't know whether they lock onto mobs if you specifically click on one, but I've never had any trouble playing this way, using Shift to “plant my feet” whenever I'm not moving. If I recall correctly (I haven't been playing recently), there's also a few breakable objects which cannot be targeted, so can only be broken this way.

No, your pet cannot die. If your pet gets too low on life, they'll panic, run away and return when they recover. They'll regenerate life slowly while fleeing, so if you wait a bit, they'll come back on their own. You can speed the healing process by giving your pet a health potion. I believe this requires that you shift-click or shift-hotkey (ie, if your health potion is 1, press Shift-1) a health potion. You can also make your pet tougher by feeding it fish, so they don't take as much damage, and therefore don't run away as easily. Different fish have different attributes and last for different amount of time, so experiment to find the one that works best for you, and then feed it that fish before/during a fight with a large boss or other dangerous area of the game.

When Bobby is being held prisoner by the Clerics, and the guard catches him trying to investigate the scrying orb, the guard offers him a deal. He will let him look at the orb, if Bobby lets him look at his face without the robe. "Legends say it is death to look upon a Weaver uncloaked. Naturally, us clerics pay little heed to such foolish rumours. Still, I'm curious. I'll let you look into this sphere if you let me lift your hood. Deal?" In the original version, the cut-scene cuts forward. The Cleric is gone, and Bobby comments "Can't say I didn't warn him". It is left up to the player to interpret what happened. When playing on expert mode, you see the cleric lift Bobby's hood. As soon as the hood is lifted, Bobby's head emits a blinding light. The Cleric screams, as his body is reduced to its skeleton, and he is sucked into the blinding light that is Bobby's head.
