What are the optimal setups for planetary interaction?

I recently moved in null sec and I was wondering about the optimal setup for an excavation colony.

Currently, I have all the PI skills at IV and I want to setup a colony that produces P2 items.

With these prerequisites ( and, if you want, with all skills at V What is the optimal setup for planetary interaction?

Bonus: Any image will be greatly welcome and surely help everybody.

After some research, turns out that a really good way to manage power grid is to stretch the whole colony into a big line.

This way you save power grid necessary to put extractors close to hot spots, with the addition that you have a lot more room to move extractor heads (since the extractor itself is near the hotspot).

I'll accept this answer in few days if nobody else answers.

Mob spawning happens in two stages. First: a block is picked at random. This block has to be exactly Air (not any non-solid block) for a pack of mobs to spawn around it. No solid block is even required under the chosen block, just it to be Air. Second: several attempts are made to spawn individual mobs around the pack center - at exactly the same height, but up to 20 blocks away horizontally. Strictly speaking, getting a mob spawn at 20 blocks from pack center is impossibly rare, but still can happen. Most attempts fall within 5-10 blocks of the center. The culprit in your case is the second stage - individual mobs can spawn inside non-solid blocks like Carpets, Pressure Plates, open Fence Gates and even Doors - tall mobs are thin enough not to collide with a door when they are placed in the center of the block. Had your installation been underground, with no Air block at the level of doors, it would be secure. But it being in the air, packs start spawning outside, and "leak" inside through door blocks. Oh, plus there's air above glass floor. P.S.: My test world shown on the screenshot is a snow-covered superflat. Though mobs definitely can spawn in snow cover blocks, there is never (if I'm careful) an Air block on ground level, so the world is safe.

I would create a new floor with different resources. You're right. Collecting caps isn't efficient, and defense is a simple job that is easily completed by dwellers, who, unlike Mr. Handy, can be armed with better weapons (like Fat Man). In my opinion, resource gathering is the most useful option.

EveMon has a pretty good skill tree in it, but it's hard to see everything at once. I don't think I've seen a "complete skill tree" anywhere. But I haven't looked too hard.

The missions for the Occultist and the Missionary are best to be done once you get access to the Hook region and its azure. Regardless, the order of focus is: Crew members Ship upgrades The shipwright really doesn't matter, its boosts are negligible. But you should focus on combat, as that's the one stat you can't increase as much as the others with ship equipment alone. Recruit the best crew available to you, and keep swapping your older ones with them. Even if the new ones are initially weaker, they'll level up fast. Try to aim for four ships; one for combat, one for seafaring, one for morale and one as a combination of all. This way you'll always have enough powerful crew members available for any story mission.

In my opinion since the Heavy Missile changes, the Tengu isn't the "best" mission runner anymore. It's not "bad" since you can still fit it up with HAMs but it's a lot more balanced than it was. The Tengu is so loved because it's a true jack of all trades. Here is a breakdown of the pros and cons of each of the strategic cruisers; Legion (Amarr) the good: Highly versatile, great damage projection, can be fitted as a neuter, good tank in almost any setup, can fit HAMs, Legion armour boosts the bad: No real EWAR or tackle benefit unlike the others (Loki webs, Proteus points, Tengu jams) limit its usefulness in PvP, bad when set up with a cloak Loki (Minmatar) the good: Brings the most utility, awesome webs, can be armour or shield tanked, good with cloak subsystem if you mean to bring utility, probably most useful out of the four with capitals on field the bad: DPS is pretty poor Proteus (Gallente) the good: Best cloaky ship while maintaining high DPS, especially with blasters, blasters > everything for close range DPS. the bad: Can't fill many roles, not versatile Tengu (Caldari) the good: Good mission and site runner for solo play, jack of all trades the bad: Not got a great shield, heavy missiles are quite poor since the nerf, average DPS, doesn't really master anything

Identify the "steam app" number (I think DOTA2 is 570) Find the installscript.vdf file in the game's install folder. Open it with a text editor You will see lines like this: {...} InstallScript" { "Run Process" { "DirectX" {...} For every "run process" item like DirectX highlighted above, add a new dword parameter in the registry and set it to 1 in the proper registry node. For Dota2, the app node is: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Valve\Steam\Apps\570 If you using a 32-bit OS, omit Wow6432Node. You can examine sibling game nodes for more confirmation, but I think once it all runs, steam also adds a dword named "Installed" with a value of 1. Rarely, an installscript.vdf has a typo (like "DircetX"). I think you need to copy the typo in the registry entry. This file may be rewritten when steam updates a game. Clearing the contents is a temporary fix.

Scramming is a tactic usually relegated to squads. If you're going to be going up against someone running Damps or some other tactic that's trying to get you in close, then I'd avoid the fight. You lose such an incredible speed advantage by going to AB that you may have to change your tactics altogether. On the other hand your signature radius is much smaller in an afterburner kit so you're harder to hit, not to mention the fitting you can manage with only an AB. Ultimately if you're not a sniping cepter the risk vs reward is pretty high to stick to the MWD. But again, it all depends on who you're fighting. You can build up a pretty incredible transversal velocity with an MWD and those turret folks seem to hate that if you are good at zig zagging. If you're used to the MWD and you switch to AB I'd definitely consider practising A LOT so you get used to the differences and when/where your proverbial hitbox is the largest.

Whether or not this is cheating, I don't know. But I wanted Conditioning also for my Warrior, and I also wanted to +100 weight carrier in Pickpocket perk. What you are trying to do below is get 100 pickpocket, so you can steal back any gold from training. Starting this I was about level 10 (now level 27 from an hour grinding). Steps I took to get both: I went to the Stone and took Thief (changing from Warrior). I had about 15~ pickpocket if I remember correctly. I stole enough to get my pickpocketing up to about 20. Steal apples and stuff. Doesn't take too long. I then went to Jorvasskar (the home of the Companions). Speak with Farkas in there and train Heavy Armour once. Steal back the 200 gold it costs. (And you will gain a level in pickpocket). Train again, and repeat five times, stealing back every time. At which point you can level up. After you have leveled up repeat this process until you get to a point when your probabilty to pickocket is too low to succeed and start taking the perks in pickpocking in order to get a 20%+ change to pickpocket items. Once you can take the 50% gold pickpocking perk (this REALLY helps and keeps your change to pickpocket at 90% all the time). Keep pickpocketing all the way up and you will easily get your heavy armour to 70. You might want Blacksmithy Also... A really easy way is to do this: (You need Undead Flee enchant or something equally high quality). Craft Daggers Enchant with Undead Flee.. (using a petty soul gem which you can buy for 30g) Sell the daggers back to Eorlund Gray-Mane the Blacksmith for like 300~ gold each. Buy all of his Ores. Pickpocket everything from him. Repeat every 48 hours, or move to another Blacksmith.

At the moment Faraxis has not released any scenarios with Civilization 5. It is possible to create your own maps and scenario's using the world builder and modding tools so I hope it wont be long before WWII and similar scenario's are created by the community though, which is just as good in my opinion. Edit: Faraxis released a Mongolian scenario in a free online patch. I assume this indicates that there will be more to come in time.

It depends. Your speed only directly affects the amount of damage you receive from missiles. For turret weapons speed only indirectly effects how easy is to hit you. It's actually your angular velocity relative to the attacker that affects turrets. If the turrets can't turn fast enough to track you then they'll miss. Whether or not they can track you depends on how far you are from the enemy, what direction you're going and the speed of your ship. If you're far away from the ship then you're an easy target (assuming you're still in range), since the turret doesn't have to move as fast. If you're heading straight towards or straight away from the enemy then the turret can easily track you, it doesn't have to move. If you're orbiting close and fast to the enemy then you're hard to track and so hard to hit. Whether you're better off running a afterburner, a micro warp drive or a shield booster depends on the situation. Generally MWDs are too energy hungry to run for very long, they also have penalties that make your ship easier to hit, so with most fits they're not run all the time. Afterburners are less of a drain on your capacitors so they're easier to fit on a ship that can keep them running all the time. If you can do that and orbit enemies fast and close then you might not even need the shield booster and rely on passive shield regen. Or maybe it would be better to pulse your afterburner and shield booster as necessary to gain speed or repair your shields. Or maybe your ship is just too slow and big or the or enemies turrets are too fast so you're only option is to run the shield booster. Whatever you do make sure you haven't equipped your ship with redundant modules, or ones you're not going to use. If you're not going to use a MWD or afterburner except occasionally don't equip one. Choose one tanking strategy. For PvE combat that means one of active shield tanking, passive shield tanking or active armour tanking. You can add speed on top of that, but one those tanking strategies is how you'll soak up the massive DPS you need to absorb during missions.

You can buy a PLEX, which means Pilot License EXtension. Those can be bought for real money and then can be traded ingame for the virtual currency ISK. On Activation, a PLEX grants 30 days of playtime. At the moment, 1 PLEX is about 600.000.000 ISK or 20 USD if bought from CCP.

Updated for 1.07 Looks like with the increase to MP experience, the new sweet spot for xp gain has been shifted to mp5. Of course this is assuming you can optimally handle the higher MP without deaths and still maintaining a fast kill rate. Using the official MP chart, I plotted the ratios of the gain per level vs. increase in health and damage: I also plotted the gain vs increase in health/damage in this spreadsheet. Note, for the damage line, when comparing it to monster health, lower is better, but for all other cases higher is better. While it's obvious that monster damage scales favorably the higher you go (reasons discussed in the blog post above). The optimal point in terms of mf/gf seems to be at MP3-4. While the optimal gain point for bonus items and experience is at MP5. When looking at damage, the optimal gain point shifts towards MP7+, this is due to the fact that monster damage doesn't scale up nearly as much as health. Overall, if you can handle MP5, that seems to be the sweet spot in terms of gain of MF/GF/XP/Bonus item vs increased monster difficulty.

I'd recommend you to play around in EFT or Pyfa, this is extremely useful in general and you can easily find out the first question with those programs. Both, ANP and EANM are affected by the armor compensation skills. Unlike the shield compensation skills which only affect passive hardeners and are pretty useless, the armor compensation skills are quite useful. The statement that the enegized version is better is based on the Tech 2 versions of these modules where there is a difference of 20% vs. 15.4%, in the meta 4 versions this is not the case and the ANP is even slightly better.

The item appearing in the hangar is simply so you can trade or sell it. In order to use it, you need to go to the character customisation screen while docked by clicking on the "Re-Customization" button on the "Station Services" panel; The item will then appear under the appropriate category for the item (in this instance, it's a t shirt, so it appears under "Top"); After you commit your changes on the "Re-Customization" screen, the item in your hangar will disappear. If you change what you're wearing in the future, and remove the t shirt, the item will reappear in your inventory so that you can later sell it if you don't want it anymore.
