Does having a specific blade as your squad leader in mercenaries missions have any effect ?

The only effect that the squad leader has is the name of the squad. There are a few missions that will require a specific squad leader but outside of that and the name, the leader does not have an effect on the mission.

In the years since this question was asked, Xenoblade Chronicles has had official English releases on Wii, Wii U, and New 3DS, making a translation patch unnecessary. Plate armor has the same armor rating as Orcish armor (40 base armor) which has the same level requirement. Plate is also heavier than Orcish. Stick with the Heavy Armor path in Smithing.

In order to level up your Field Skills, you need to be a BLADE operative. You will eventually become one as the story progresses. From there on, with every BLADE level you gain, you will need to talk to Eleonora at the BLADE Concourse in the Administrative District in order to gain a single level of whichever Field Skill you wish. It is recommended to level the Mechanical Field Skill before the others, as you'll need it to place Data Probes, which are a very important source of Miranium and Funds, and also serve as Fast Travel points. Each Field Skill can be levelled up to level 4 at first. In order to reach level 5, you will need to complete the mission "Off the Record" from the BLADE terminal for each Field Skill that has already reached level 4. Since the mission appears and disappears at random, it is recommended you accept it as soon as you see it to prevent it from disappearing. Otherwise, you might have to visit the BLADE terminal several times before the mission reappears.

The answer is yes. Upon beating the game, you unlock support missions (accessible via the back terminal in the BLADE barracks, where you normally do multiplayer interactions). In here, there are 6 missions (the first 6), giving this amount of BP: The Docile Ovis (4) The Grand Plot (8) Reckless Prone (12) Greedy Prone (24) Noctilum Nights (48) As If a Cloud (60) The best way to get BP is to repeatedly do the last one - in a good skell, you simply one-shot everything (especially if using an Intergalatic Phoenix or G-Buster), making it the most effective method to get BP post-game.

In the same way that they don't run out of ammo, they are not affected by weight restrictions See here Weight Capacity Each class has a different amount of weapons that it can hold at one time. If Shepard is encumbered then limitations will be imposed. For example, power cooldowns will be extended. Weight does not seem to affect the power cooldown times of squadmates.

According to a recent thread on swcommander.com, you can't choose your successor. One will be assigned the role automatically: The squad member with the most medals inherits the leader role. I just did this last week and I had customer support confirm that's how it works before doing it

As mentioned, this is a dependency issue which may be better suited to the AskUbuntu Stack Exchange website or Unix and Linux Stack Exchange website. Unfortunately, libgdk-pixbuf2 is quite old, and is part of GTK1, which has been discontinued for quite some time. It looks like this was resurrected from an old stable release a few years back, and there has been an experimental package imported into Maverick and Natty (Ubuntu releases) but should be available in the Debian repositories as well. If you do the following you may find the new package using APT; sudo aptitude update sudo aptitude show gdk-pixbuf sudo aptitude install gdk-pixbuf If you get a GPG error (signatures couldn't be verified because the public key is not available) then try to get the key as well; sudo apt-key adv --recv-keys --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com

Increasing an idea increases the base statistic for that character. So, if you increase Justice, then your Justice level goes up which will increase the chance of getting a Blade with the two elements that correspond with Justice. Ideas also increase the probability of getting a rare blade.

There is no marker like this in the game. The only way to know if you've fought something is to look it up in the index.

Training: danger rooms (a room full of lever-operated upright wooden training spears). This is considered an exploit by some, because of its absurd effectiveness, but if you want your dwarves to be real good at fighting real fast, this is the way to do it. Remember to use wooden training spears, which are virtually harmless, and not menacing spikes, which are deadly weapons even when made of wood. Stick 10 spears in each trap for maximum effectiveness, and remember to give your dwarves armor, shields and weapons of a type you want them to train with. Removing shields will accelerate the speed of weapon skill training, but will obviously stop shield user training. Equipment: iron armor at the bare minimum, steel if possible. A dwarf can (and should) wear chain mail, a breastplate, greaves, boots, gloves, a helmet, and a cloak. For weapons, axes and hammers are generally the best, axes excelling against unarmored enemies and hammers against armored enemies. Chance to hit is increased for masterwork (x2) and artifact (x3) weapons (less skilled soldiers will get greater benefits from high-quality weapons than legendary soldiers), so train up your weaponsmith. All dwarves should also carry a shield, you can get away with shields made of wood or inferior metals if you are light on steel. Scouting: Remember that not all goblins are created equal. There is little you can do to prepare your dwarves to fight Goblin Lashers. People call them Sith Warriors for a reason: whips (and scourges) are effectively lightsabers, penetrating most armor due to a very small contact area and a massive velocity, however high Shield User and Dodger skills will give a good boost to your dwarves' chances. Have a backup plan to deal with an entire squad of Lashers. Goblin Bowmen are also dangerous, try fighting them in winding corridors to prevent them from shooting up your advancing dwarves, or counter them with your own elevated crossbow-wielding dwarves behind fortifications. All other goblin weapon specialties are pretty much equivalent; well-armored and armed dwarves should be able to deal with them relatively safely.

Here's a partially complete Bonus Powers unlocking guide and a list of all bonus powers. It seems most of the powers are unlocked from conversations you can have from the "investigate" option with them on the Normandy. As long as the squadmate is alive you should be able to talk with them, though it seems you can only unlock some after certain events. From my experience you just talk to each squadmate and take every conversation option and they should give you one of them. You might have to use the squadmate more to get the bonus powers, especially the second one. I got Garrus' power and I take him all the time. Additionally it seems you get their second power after they invite themselves to your cabin. They'll mention having a chat in your quarters at some point and you can use the intercom in your cabin to invite them in. After a cutscene plays you'll get the power. I managed to get Tali's power even though I hadn't yet used her as a squad mate. I got the invitation immediately after she came aboard the ship at a certain, Quarian related part of the plot.

To avoid spoilers, I'll just leave it at this: Tora does get more Blades. To be more specific, he gets two Blades as part of the story and through a sidequest. One Fire and one Ice although you can change those elements with Poppiswap.
