Do the Spartan Ops missions in Halo 4 still continue to be released?

I recall that 343 Studios said they will develop 5 new episodes every week. However as the game was released 2012/2013.

Is the program still running?

No. I believe they released 10 episodes in all. They should still be playable, but no additional episodes are planned.

At the end of Halo 3, Master Chief is drifting through space in the back half of the Forward Unto Dawn. Cortana is nearing the end of her useful life cycle and is beginning to become rampant. However, she decides to put Master Chief into stasis, send out a distress signal, and remain active to monitor the situation. Time passes. There are a lot of political and social upheavals within the Covenant as a result of the Human-Covenant war that came to a head in Halo 3. While some of the Sangheili believe that allying with the humans is the correct course of action, there are more than a few rebels who believe the humans are still an enemy. Much of this is contained in novels, rather than plot in-game. Eventually, the distress signal from Forward Unto Dawn is received by the UNSC, and they dispatch the UNSC Infinity to rescue Master Chief. (The arc that leads to this is the live-action series Forward Unto Dawn). The Forward Unto Dawn is falling towards Forerunner Shield World called Requiem which was designed as a military base by the Forerunners, and is supposed to be a safe haven from the Flood. If you finish Halo 3 on Legendary, you get a short glimpse of this world as part of the end cutscene. Meanwhile, a group of anti-human Covenant called the Remnant has also found Requiem and is attempting to breach it, seeking to steal the Forerunner technology inside as a means to eradicate the humans. These Covenant and their leader are featured prominently in the Spartan Ops campaign in Halo 4. What's actually inside is a powerful Forerunner "general" of sorts who was imprisoned for various complex reasons which you can read about in his article here. He's got kind of a grudge against humans, and isn't above sacrificing them for his own ends. Needless to say, the guy gets along with the Covenant Remnant pretty well, and this "dream team" of Covenant, the Didact, and the Didact's army of Prometheans form the primary antagonists of Halo 4.

Guerrilla Ops have two rewards: countering a dark event (except for the very first guerrilla op, because there are no pending dark events when it takes place), and a reward that can be an engineer, a scientist, a soldier, supplies, or intel. Maybe something else too but those certainly are potential rewards. It makes sense that by completing the timed objective the dark event gets countered anyway. After all that is the thematic reason you go to a guerrilla op. But you did not get the other reward, so that's what you missed out on by evacuating before eliminating opposition. And you also did not get the enemy corpses or any equipment left behind by your fallen soldiers not carried to the evac zone.

In public multiplayer, based on the experience I've had so far - the first 3 seem to be Legendary difficulty and the last 2 Heroic. Every time I play I get this same structure. The only way to select difficulty is to start a private Spartan Ops match and you can choose the difficulty, but it doesn't appear to me that you can make it public, so you either have to go it alone (Might suit some, but I don't fancy it!) or have enough available friends. Quite a few achievements in this game are frustrating to get because the game leans you away from the goal!

No, they aren't. Konami has historically only hosted the multiplayer component of the MGS games that have them for a limited time before shutting it down. MGS4's iteration of Metal Gear Online is also gone for good. If you want to play Metal Gear Online again, you can still play Peace Walker online because it is the newest iteration of MGO, so it hasn't been shut down yet. Otherwise, you'll have to buy MGSV: The Phantom Pain and wait until October when MGO is released again... just be sure not to wait too long.

Much like the other answer, your best bet is to consume the other media in the Halo Universe. Namely the Kilo Five Trilogy, as these take place after the main war of Halo 1-3 (some of it during the events of 4). But for the sake of saving time... I'll do my best to answer your specific points. Osiris is one of the many Spartan IV fireteams, as Spartan IVs can be selected from "normal" soldiers (Like Buck) and upgraded, instead of taken at a young age and "created" like the Spartan IIs or the mass produced expendable IIIs. As for the members... Nightfall is a good explanation for Locke, and you should already know Buck if you played ODST... but what about Tanaka and Vale? For this, I recommend reading their HaloPedia entries Tanaka and Vale as they are certainly just minor characters, and are pretty much just there to fill the 4 player co-op, and match Blue Team. That made a good segway into Blue Team, yeah? Well, if you've read Fall of Reach you should already know Blue Team and what happened to them... the Kilo Five Trilogy I mentioned earlier also follows along their endeavors while Chief is doing his thing, but again reading up on Blue team will certainly help if you don't want to read 3 reasonably sized books. Another book that covers Blue Team's survivors specifically is "Last Light" As for Halsey's side of things... she's all over the place... and I think this is intended. There probably is media explaining exactly what was going on with her during the war and aftermath... but I haven't really come across much. Kilo Five again would be the best bet here. I never made it to the end of Spartan Ops... so I don't know what exactly you are asking

Use the data value NoAI:1 to keep a mob from moving by itself. For example, the following command will summon a Zombie that will not move by itself. /summon zombie ~ ~1 ~ {NoAI:1} Generated from digminecraft.com. Note: this was a Java Edition command. I have no idea if it will work in Education Edition. I do hope it does, I suggest you try it and find out. Let me know if it doesn't work.

Although the Xbox One can now play a small amount of 360 games (with more being added to support over time), the 360 cannot play Xbox One games. There wouldn't be much point to upgrading consoles if the old out of date hardware can play the new games now would there?

When controlling Xbox via iPhone SmartGlass, your Halo Waypoint Service Record automatically loads via an app called Halo 4 stats. I believe this is in Windows 8 "metro" format, but I'm not positive. It has a lot of cool stats and such, which can be helpful while you are playing the game if you want to know what to focus on. Especially during load screens and such. The SmartGlass app "controller" does not appear to work with the game - but beating the Didact with your smartphone was probably never in the cards anyway.

You do not get the mission rewards and prestige from replayed missions, however you do get the money and items you found within the missions. Thus, replaying missions may not be a way to profit from selling the rewards, but it makes farming Materials, Tokens and Crowns much easier by simply being able to make a pure Snarbolax or Jelly King run for example.

Jetpack Joyride randomly generates the quests, so if you finish those eventually they'll run out, if that makes sense.

The easiest way is to change your system clock. To do that, you need to be offline, and then just go to your settings. During the mission, there is a section near the beginning where you go off of a jump that should net you the achievement fairly easily. All detailed in the guide below.

In Halo 4 from the Xbox 360, yes, it requires internet connection and an Xbox Live Gold Membership to play. If you were to play it from the Halo Chief Master Collection, it does not[1]

Depends, with Patrol, they will engage every type of enemy fleet. From battleships to destroyers and submarines. Convoy Raiding will target only convoys and ships protecting the convoy. If your fleet is weaker than the enemy, avoid Patrol.
