I was just playing a pub server in TF2 and somebody in chat said they got a hat drop. Are they legit? Just wondering.

It is still possible to get hat drops.

What they're referring to is the period of about a year from early 2015 to early 2016 where no random hat drops were happening.

Valve finally fixed that a few months ago.

Yes, you're currently able to set this limit by clicking on your own avatar in the "party bar" at the top left of the screen, then it should drop down and present you with a "Matchmaking settings" option. You may be thinking of the Ghastly Gibus- a Halloween themed top hat. This hat is given to a player when they dominate another player wearing a Gibus. The Pyrovision Goggles do the same thing. The drop rates of other hats are not affected by who you kill.

What devices are susceptible for hardware damage by a sudden loss of power? Computer systems and other electronic devices containing logic circuitry are susceptible to data loss or hardware damage that can be caused by the sudden loss of power. These can include data networking equipment, video projectors, alarm systems as well as computers. The electricity flowing through your home is not constant. Ideally it would be, but the reality is that electrical currents can ebb and flow, sometimes dropping in voltage and other times surging with extra power. All of these can have undesirable effects. When power completely shuts off, it’s known as a blackout. These tend to occur due to issues beyond your control (e.g., power station disruptions, damaged electrical lines, etc.) but sometimes they can be self-inflicted (e.g., by shorting or overloading circuits). And then there’s a similar issue called brownout, which is when your electrical voltage experiences a temporary drop without fully blacking out. If you’ve ever seen your lights dim for unknown reasons, it was probably due to a brownout. Brownouts can be intentional as a way to reduce electrical loads and prevent blackouts, though they can be unintentional as well. The real danger of blackouts and brownouts is the unexpected computer shutdown. Operating systems are complex and they must go through a “shutdown sequence” to make sure all running processes have correctly terminated before powering off. A sudden loss of electricity can interrupt important threads and leave your computer in an inoperable state. System files are the largest concern. Consider what happens when a hard drive is writing data to the disk but suddenly shuts down in the middle of it. Suppose the file being written was a system file necessary for the booting process? Now that file is corrupted and you can’t boot up your computer without going through an involved recovery procedure. Furthermore, frequent power outages can reduce a hard drive’s physical lifespan. The read-and-write head, which hovers over the spinning platters during operation, snaps back into its original position upon power loss. This sudden movement can cause tiny imperfections that accumulate over time, increasing the likelihood of a “head crash”: a malfunction that occurs when the head touches and scrapes the platter surfaces, effectively destroying the hard drive. Solid-state drives can also suffer catastrophic damage from sudden power cuts. Issues can range anywhere from data corruption to total malfunction. It should be noted that although power outages will not cause direct harm to computer hardware other than data drives, it’s possible for power outages to be accompanied by power surges, which can cause severe damage to hardware. TLDR; To sum up, on a power failure/sudden shutdown/blackout your hardware can get corrupted files. This is due to the fact that the hardware, when shutting down, needs to go through its 'shutdown sequence'. If your hardware is writing an important file and it suddenly loses power the file that it was writing at the time became corrupt and is most likely deemed useless. (There are ways to fix this but thats not the question here). If you in your case didnt experience any downsides (corrupted files/hardware failure/etc) you either were very lucky or your system repaired itself by using files that weren't corrupted.

Yes, I'm nearly certain they're cheating. Generally, you'll find the value 2,147,483,647 as a high score, because this is the highest value kids people can input using their cheat programs. (highest value a signed int can store)

The other way to complete your bounty sets, including Gems, is to use the black market and near app to trade items, it seems to be very difficult to obtain the rare and scarce items simply by continuing to kill enemies in game. There are no specific enemies who have specific bounties, the rare and scarce items are just less likely to be dropped after a kill. Unfortunately the near app and black market are not very easy to use, I found some useful information here on how to use the trade system. The best way is to go to a forum and seek out players looking to actively trade bounties and friend them on PSN so you can trade with active players straight away as trades expire very quickly.

Consider using a server plugin like whitelist.tf. It allows server owners to disallow certain items on their server and has several presets depending on your needs.

Custom skins are client side and do not interact with VAC. This means you cannot be banned for using them. It is possible, however, for servers to disable them by changing certain settings. "Mods" covers a wide range of things from perfectly legal scripts to completely illegal aim-bots and hacks. Without knowing the exact mod you're talking about, I can't say whether it'd be allowed, potentially disabled or illegal.

When the server finishes the round, you will receive a battle report and the points you accumulated. Now, if the server crashes, I believe the points and progress are lost.

In a quick version yes, all trophies auto pop and they added a platinum trophy to PS5 version. Note – This game has also been confirmed to auto pop the PS4 100% if you played the PS5 version first. This is done through the in-game log-in account system, which means you can transfer progress from PC, XBox, mobile etc. and still pop trophies.

No, there is no difference, it just looks differently. There are many "copies" of weapons with different name and look, for example, HHHH and Nessie's Nine Iron act exactly the same as Eyelander.

No, using any console command on a VAC protected server will not cause a VAC ban. not official, but a very verbose discussion about what causes bans and what does not. http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1906399 Allowed Cheats that will never trigger a ban. Using console cheats in a source VAC server with sv_cheats 1 turned on allows all players in the server to use console cheats of any kind. wording of this page implies that console commands do not matter and that VAC would not even be able to detect them. https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/VAC When a player is connected to a VAC-secured server (denoted by a security badge and the letter V in the server browser), the VAC system checks if any foreign processes are hooked into the player's local game binaries. The answer is a simple NO. Strange parts only begin to count the statistics after they are applied. Previous stats are not accounted for. When applied, it will not count any previous stats. Reference: TF2 Wiki

The Wrangler has a few advantages as well Manually controlling the sentry increases its bullet fire rate. I want to say by double, but I'm not positive about that. The blue/red bubble is actually a shield that absorbs 66% of the damage done to it. For an example of what this means, instead of taking 3 stickybombs to kill a level 3 sentry, it takes 8 to kill a level 3 wrangled sentry. The shield persists for a few seconds after you stop using the Wrangler, so its useful for quick repairs. You can manually aim it at players outside the sentry's normal range. This is great for dealing with snipers. You can manually aim it at disguised Spies. You can use a sentry to "sentry jump" (using bullets or rockets) to reach places Engineers normally can't go. This is because bullets and rockets damage the Engineer who controls a sentry gun. Incidentally, a sentry gun can shoot its owner when operating automatically. This is actually a high-level trick: By ducking in and out from behind the Engineer's dispenser, you can cause it to turn around and shoot towards said dispenser, usually with the Engineer between the sentry and dispenser.
