Relationship between aspiration and career

I found a few guides that state that some careers are better suited for specific type of aspiration.

For example the Slacker is better suited for the Romance aspiration.

My question is: what is the specific effect that aspirations have over career? Do aspirations improve the chance of promotion for example?

So far it seems there are no specific effects. The only thing is that the life aspiration includes something like "reach the last stage in the XXX career".

Nothing is explicitly mentioned in canon. The closest thing you might find is D.Va and Lucio being fans of each other, but from there to any romantic interest it's a big leap.

You can't download new scenarios for the Sims per se, but you can download pre created Families with goals and wants created by other players. Most of these are available directly on The Sims 2 website. Look under the Exchange section and specifically at Sims. Alternatively you can look at doing a Sims 2 Challenge. The concept is that there is a specific set of criteria you have to meet with a particular Sim or Sim family, and it adds some goals to playing the actual game. There is a forum dedicated to Sims 2 challenge at Mod The Sims here. You can also look for downloadable families at Mod The Sims, as they are one of the bigger Sims resources online. I recently started one with the new Vampires in the Sims 3 based on the Legendary Challenge.

Use aphrodisiac meals to put the target in a good mood. Giving the meal to the target raises the relationship and they will want to eat it. Couches can become social machines. Trap a Sim on a couch. Block their one-tile exit. Now, any Sims seated with them will talk with them, at NO loss, raising their relationship, albeit slowly, AND filling the Social meter. Marry to obtain control of another Sim. Divorcées can still be controlled afterward. This is useful when the target is in a good enough relationship to get married to another Sim that you control, but you want to befriend them with another Sim. Although socialization with ghost interactions have 0 base consequences (by themselves, they'll never improve or worsen a relationship), socialization with ghosts can still benefit from relationship meter bonuses (i.e., +1 for being on good terms in the past) which results in 100% win for easy relationship building. Another way of avoiding the post-four-wins-streak loss of social interactions is to perform the social interactions outside of Direct Control mode. Cultivate a graveyard garden of friendship. Mourning a Sim raises your relationship with them (as long as they're not on your lot). You can mourn them for as long as your Fun is not low enough. Is it possible to mourn urns, as well as memorials? Yes. How to kill: Main method: starvation: Get target on couch or bed. Trap the target by blocking their exit (such as with a cheap waste-basket). Wait until they are sure to die from starvation once they awake, then release them to die to get a tombstone of them. The visiting Sims in my games have nightmares about garbage cans until they die from hunger. If you're looking to kill a Sim that you control, trap them in sleep in a bed because this allows you to fast-fast-forward when all controllable Sims sleep, speeding up the starvation process.

I have solved the mystery! Graphics rules maker was editing the high preset, and so was I. However, the game was looking at the low preset, so I changed the low preset. Problem solved.

The starter pack has nothing to do with your career, only with the ships you get as a small bonus. Just train the skills you need and do whatever you want.

Is the tombstone still on the lot? If the stone's still on the lot, your Sim will still be grieving. A simple solution: move the stone or delete it. hope this helped

I don't know how complete it is, but there's quite a bit of it over on MediaFire. I found that by way of this forum thread which contains many individual links that might be of use. I found that link via this thread, which catalogues Sims sites that have bitten the dust and where their content is backed up/currently located. Unfortunately, by the very nature of content downloads, I can't really give a "timeless" answer here. My suggestion would be to grab as much as you can, and back it up if you want to use it into the future. Sites like these don't stick around forever, and the lifespan of disused content on the internet is generally fairly short.

"Growing up" is a particularly strong memory, and sims who have grown up poorly (due to aspiration failure) will spend the first couple of days in their new age moping about it while a picture of the bad memory appears in their thought bubbles. Accordingly, because this is a negative memory, growing up badly will allow sims to learn, and then gossip about, the event. The "score" is just a numerical representation of the aspiration bar, I believe.

There actually are different quest lines that somewhat follow others (I haven't played in a few months so I can't remember exactly which ones follow which). I did the main quest line and once I was supposed to switch regions (Faelands to Detyre, for example), I did the factions quest lines up until it wanted me to go to another area. So just do the quests in the region you are in, and once you have to switch, you have all the quests you want in that area versus having to travel all around the map to finish one then move on to another.

I couldn't find the answer online, so I decided to try them all out myself. Here are the max CareerLevels for each Career type: Farmer 4 Fisherman 2 Shepherd 2 Fletcher 2 Librarian 6 Cartographer ? (Tested on console) Cleric 4 Armorer 4 Weapon 3 Tool 3 Butcher 2 Leather 3 Nitwit ? (Tested on console) Once CareerLevel is >= these values, new trades stop generating.

Sorry for the late reply, I was googling something similar to your question and found this. I play several Grilled Cheese sims and have also read way too much on the Sims wikia, so those are my references. Q1 I'll have to try to pay closer attention to in my game and update you - I play TS2 Ultimate Edition (all expansions) at the latest version. I've seen this glitch listed elsewhere as well, but am not sure. Worst case scenario, test it yourself then get your Sim to exercise or use a Witch Sim to cast Corpus Athleticus to fix any accidentally gained weight. (EDIT 2: It does not appear to work. It appears that conjuring a grilled cheese sandwich will keep the fitness bar about the same, but actually making food and eating it definitely dropped the Fitness bar somewhat.) Q2/Q3 - Grilled Cheese paintings are basically the same as other paintings- they are not automatically considered masterpieces and are dependent on the Creativity skill. As such, the Grilled Cheese paintings are mostly cosmetic. If there is a difference in price, it's not noticeable. The main benefit of Grilled Cheese secondary aspiration would be that your Sim becomes happy after making Grilled Cheese sandwiches, so if you're running a store or restaurant which sells Grilled Cheese, this can help keep your Sim's mood very high. If you're looking for secondary aspirations to help the primary aspiration Fortune, most aspirations will help you in one way or another. I'd recommend the Pleasure aspiration, as it allows for you to write Restaurant Guides influenced by how often your Sim goes out to eat. The knowledge aspiration will allow you to build skills more quickly through "Eureka!" and therefore will allow you to get to Creativity 10 or other needed skills faster. If you're running a Sim business, you can sell Grandma's Comfort Soup from the secondary Family Aspiration- your Sim makes simoleons, and other Sims have easier access to a food which cures illness. Popularity and Romance don't create ways of making money, but do allow for faster friend building, which is good for helping you get promotions. Q4 - There is no cooldown for summoning Grilled Cheeses, but it causes a drop in the Energy mood. You can essentially convert Energy to Hunger this way and also boost your Sim's aspiration, while also saving Simoleons on food. The drawback is that in order to get the ability to summon sandwiches, you have to have Grilled Cheese as your PRIMARY aspiration. GC Sims only receive wants and fears related to Grilled Cheese, not generic wants (unless they're on a Date, in which case they receive Date-related wants.) Q5 - Because it converts Energy to create sandwiches, I don't THINK sandwich creation occurs autonomously- at least, I've never seen it happen even with a really hungry Sim. It would be really bad if you were playing a Sim with Low Hunger and Energy and the Sim decided to pass out by creating a sandwich! If I do notice this happen, I'll let you know, but I've never seen it. Hope that helps!

You have to click on the child once they are in bed, but before they have fallen asleep (z's appear). There needs to be space by the bed for the teen/adult to sit while they are reading.
