How can I disable Street Fighter IV from lowering my volume during multiplayer battles?

When I play Street Fighter IV AE in Steam and I open or join a multiplayer game the volume of my music (e.g. iTunes, Spotify) gets lowered.

How can I prevent this?

This is windows reacting to a "telephone call" because someone has a microphone plugged in.

You can disable this "feature" like this:
- Open Start -> Control Panel -> Sound
- Switch to the Communications Panel
- Select "Do nothing"
This will disable this feature for every application including Steam.

The "Steam Version" of games differs from the non-Steam version - if your game wasn't purchased or activated through Steam, you can't get Steam achievements for it. I don't believe there's any way to (legitimately) take achievements from a non-Steam version of a game and import them into Steam. Additionally, Quake Live and UT 2004 don't have Steam achievements, as far as I can tell. In Quake Live's case, they have a completely separate achievement system (Awards on your Profile) and UT2k4 was released prior to the introduction of the Steam achievement system, and I don't think it was ever modified to include achievements.

Nope, unfortunately you cannot pick and choose. However, HotS was less than 5GB for me, you should be fine. EDIT: I did digital download, IDK if a physical copy is bigger/smaller.

I figured it out. In the video settings for the game, there is a third mode called "Windowed (Fullscreen). Set the mode to that, and restart. Then set the mode to "Fullscreen", restart again. It will start working.

I have now discovered the issue (after posting, of course). I have a Ralink RT2860 wireless card that I use to connect to the internet, and the newest (albeit three years old) drivers apparently cause the issue. If anyone else has this issue, you can download the working drivers (version 3.0.11) from this link.

Did you happen to buy the 2 disc set, one being the original GTA IV and the other disc containing TLAD & BOGT, and then giving your friend one disc in hopes of playing online together? The answer is No. You will both need a copy of whichever game you two are trying to play together.

You should be able to do the backup of the game and then restore it on to your machine via the Steam UI. I have successfully done it by just copying the folder that contains the game and transferring that via USB drive. Probably quicker, but it will have to verify the files when you try and 'install' it on your computer, but that is usually a quick process if his game files are up to date.

This will eventually be supported as part of Fortnite Battle Royale's Custom Matchmaking feature, which is currently in private testing. Official reddit post and the same post on the Epic Games forums: We are re-enabling the "Custom Matchmaking" button on PC. Why? To test private matches. PC players will be able to see the button, but it cannot be used by anyone outside our private tests. We are going to be leaving the button on as we continue to test the private match feature.

I don't know why that was a problem, considering I had 7.62 GB free (7% of the SSD), but since cleaning the drive, giving Acer 9.06 GB free, I suddenly saw the speed go way up! Thank you so much for referring me to that website. From this, I take away the idea that it's probably best if you keep about 10% of any SSD free.

I think SteamDB.info should be able to tell you if there are price differences between your currency and another country. Search for the game you are thinking about gifting, and then click the "Prices" option on the left to see the various prices of the game in the different countries the game is offered in. For example, here is Stardew Valley: I don't think there is any official source on how big of a difference is acceptable, but one source claims anything greater than 10% can't be gifted across regions. SteamDB will at least give you an idea of any big price differences between regions.

You can play local splitscreen only without Xbox Live. Per the Minecraft Wiki: On Xbox, Local Splitscreen can be played using Local, Silver and Gold accounts, while Online Splitscreen can only be played using Gold and Guest accounts. Guest accounts can only be signed in at the start of a session; they can not join existing sessions. They can only be an Xbox Live account. A Silver Account is one that takes advantage of the free Xbox Live services only. The biggest difference with this kind of account is that you cannot participate in online multiplayer. A local account (as its refereed to in the quote) is one with neither Gold or Silver membership. The only time you cannot play a game without internet connectivity (using the Xbox offline), is when it's not your Home Xbox console and the game you are trying to play is a digitally owned one (downloaded via the Store). Disc games will always work, but digital ones will only work offline on your home console.

Yes. Go to Xbox Guide button → Preferences → Notifications and edit the options. You can also set your Xbox Guide online status to "Busy".

The biggest factors are: The number of troops The quality of troops (attack, defense, health, experience, equipment level) The types of troops used versus other types (archer vs. sword, spear vs. cavalry, etc.) Command rating of leading general Terrain bonus for applicable units Morale level of unit (weaker units tend to have low morale and some abilities lower an enemy units morale) A random chance roll that mimics the luck factor The best way to maximize success is to use massive armies and use a variety of troops suited for the faction you are fighting (fight their strengths with troops that are strong against that type).

You read right. Cross platform play is not possible for Battlefield 4. Generally, cross platform play is not a feature in most games, due to the differences in the games code, controls, etc.

I suggest you look at some of the Imperial Era Campaigns which are of good quality. There's also the dedicated forums for user-created campaigns on the Wesnoth forums on which you can have direct opinion form the players and updates on new and upcoming content for customized campaigns and scenarios.
