Meaning of green up and red down arrows next to unit cover shield?

I've noticed some of my soldiers occasionally have a green ^ or a red ^ (upside down) next to their cover icon.

What is the meaning of this?

These indicate stat penalties and bonuses. For example, if a unit is suppressed, it gets a -30 aim penalty. This unit will then have a red downward arrow next to the shield to indicate it has a stat penalty.

It is definitely possible to block this attack. It's all a question of Stamina. The way that blocking these and most attacks works is that the particular attack's Stamina damage is subtracted from your current Stamina. If your Stamina reaches zero, you end up staggered, and if your Stamina goes too far negative, you fail to block the attack at all. This is the issue with the Capra Demon's overhand smash: It does a ton of Stamina damage. Thankfully, there is a way to mitigate this. Before an attack's Stamina damage is applied, it is first reduced by your shield's Stability. The current guess is that this is a direct percentage: I.e. if an attack does 200 Stamina damage and your shield has 60 Stability, you instead take (100% - 60%) * 200 = 80 Stamina damage. Small shields top out at ~45 Stability, standard shields top out at ~60, and greatshields hit 80+ Stability. This is why heavier shields tend to block better, even when they have the same DR%. Long story short, if you want to be able to block the Capra Demon's overhead smash, you'll need a shield with high Stability—like the Balder Shield, Tower Kite Shield, or Caduceus Kite Shield, which are all available pre-Capra—and a decent amount of Stamina (from Endurance). If you have a Greatshield handy, use that instead, and upgrading shields usually increases their Stability. In the end, though, it might just be more convenient and Stamina-efficient to dodge the attack, if you can.

What you see is what there is - there's no way to expand your available space. If you've excavated and built on every tile, that's it, that's all the space you have for building things. Eventually you'll have researched everything and you can get by without the Laboratories, and some of the buildings can be upgraded (like the Power Generators and Satellite Uplinks) but you'll have to remove the existing buildings in order to do this. At that point, you may want to have a look at an attempt at a "perfect" base layout.

I quickly tested the difference between medium and large using custom battle. Apparently, Generals' health, attack damage and charge bonus values are scaled according to unit size.

That indicates the weapon has been marked as trash. If you go to a vendor and on the Buy Screen sell all trash (Delete on PC, Left Thumb Stick on 360), it would then sell this item and any others marked trash. Note that Left Thumb Stick will mark an item as trash on the 360 (presumably on the PS3 as well, ditto for selling all trash) but there is no hot key to do it on the PC; you must use the mouse (just hover over that side of the weapon and the the symbols will appear "greyed out"). Above the "X" is a Star you can click to mark an item as a favorite, though this purely cosmetic.

From, what I've managed to find out, that means that they are vulnerable to a specific type of damage (i.e. spiders and boggarts using fire) which increases the damage done. The opposite is "resisted" where they are strong against a specific element, such as spiders when using poison or fire sprites using fire.

Redeem that code just like you'd do for full-game CD-key. Please follow these instructions to activate a new retail purchase on Steam: Launch Steam and log into your Steam account. Click the Games Menu. Choose Activate a Product on Steam... Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the process. This will activate the DLC. That worked for me. If it doesn't, you should contact the support.

Take a look at your monolith. The Beast has attached a leech to it, and is sucking away your evolution points. You need to attack the leech manually and destroy it. That will set your EPS back to the correct value.

My answer only about first point: When enemy standing in certain position, you can't move your soldier to that position and yellow border show this. So, watching yellow border is common tactics to detect ghost soldiers.

The S.H.I.V is automatically equipped with the best weapon that you've researched for it, normal rifle at start, then laser, then plasma. If you've researched plasma before laser, you will get plasma and never have a laser S.H.I.V. There is no way to manually equip the S.H.I.V, because if everything work right, you shouldn't have any need to equip it, as you don't need to manufacture each weapon, like with the laser and plasma rifles, but just make the upgrade at the foundry. What you describe sounds like a bug, and you should report it to 2K support

The mako injection given to SOLDIER members doesn't turn their eyes a different color. What it does is add a green glow to their eyes, which is generally seen as a SOLDIER's trademark and makes them more easily identifiable. Prior to the mako exposure, Cloud had blue eyes. The Final Fantasy VII Remake puts a lot more emphasis in the green glow, but you can see Cloud's blues eyes with the green glow a lot more clearly in the Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children movie As for Aerith's eyes, her eye color is a solid green. Her green eyes are shown in various continuities of Final Fantasy VII. The screenshot on the left is from The Final Fantasy VII Remake and the screenshot on the right is from Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core. Since the the wiki quote for her eyes symbolizing nature is un-sourced, it's likely the information is based on urban legends indicating your eye color saying things about who you are (one blog I read indicated green eyes go along with nature and other stuff). It's possible her eyes may have gradually turned green over a long period of time. If I remember correctly, very little of Aerith's childhood is shown. So it's hard to say what her eye color is at a young age. The only shown case of Aerith being exposed to Mako is during the opening sequence, and she is looking at a broken valve that is radiating mako. We do not know if this was a multiple occurrence or if was a one-time exposure. [Minor spoilers below] It's also possible she may have had exposure with her long time spent at the Sector 5 Church. In Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children movie, it is shown that the Lifestream (which, in liquid state, forms Mako) flows beneath this church; which is why flowers are able to grow there.

My experience as Demon Hunter with Hungering Arrow tells me this: The target can be just off screen, it has quite a distance it can travel. Mind that the arrow then will target the closest creature off screen, it's quite random. you cannot click on the monster itself, it will try and find one for you. As long as you don't shoot in the opposite direction of the required target. (General direction will do.) Hungering Arrow does seek out destructible items if you click on it as a target. If there is a monster nearby and you haven't selected a destructible as target, it will shoot that monster. It can pierce the target multiple times, and fly back to strike it again. Either way, if a monster so foolishly stands in between the barrel and you, it will get hit. Hungering Arrow goes into a straight line and does not dodge other targets in order to reach its final target. For 115% weapon damage, and a 35% chance to pierce, it's a great skill even in Inferno. With Devouring Arrow as rune (70% damage per consecutive pierce) it is formidable.

Based on the gifs above and what I read here: You learn how to glide into melee range in broad, beautiful arcs with the mech; you figure out how to actually control the strafe instead of just hoping for the best; you master the timing on the shield, parrying attacks and issuing devastating counters. It seems a lot like the parry system in Dark Souls, which this post supports: The shield can also be used to parry a la Dark Souls In terms of how you would pull this off, I'm not entirely sure on what the parry window is for this game, but based on the visual similarity to Dark Souls, I think a safe assumption would be to pull up your shield right before you are hit by an attack.
