Family sharing was recently disabled for New World. From Community Manager's post : Due to the increase of bots, gold sellers, and ban evaders, we decided to disable family sharing November 4, 2021 10:00 AM (in your local timezone). This decision was not taken lightly and for players who utilize family sharing for a valid reason, we will update this post with instructions for assistance. That post is now updated: We have compiled a list of players who used Family Sharing as intended and will grant ownership to those players. Watch for a notice from Steam once this has been completed. So looks like if your account was not used for any suspicious stuff you could get access back!

While I'm unsure whether it's possible to directly transfer one steam cloud to another, it's possible to do so in your local files. There are two occasions where the steam cloud synchronizes with the local files on the computer: Whenever a game is launched, the steam cloud is downloaded so that the local files are up to date with any other systems you've played on Whenever a game is closed, the local files are uploaded into the steam cloud so that other systems will be able to access the new saves you created. In short, if you want to transfer the save data from your brother's account into yours, here's what you should do: Find where the saves are stored for his account on your computer, this can vary a lot between games. Copy those files to where saves are stored for your account The next time you launch and close that game with your account, those files will be uploaded into your steam account.

You would need to ask every time for the game from the other account. So I would reccomend just buying 2 games or just use only one account.

It seems like they should be able to, have they tried? I say "seems like" because it should have the value "exfgls: Yes" like CS: GO does on its SteamDB page if it's not included in Family Sharing, but Street Fighter V does not have that on the info page for the app.

From the stream FAQs page: To enable Family Library Sharing, first be sure you >have Steam Guard security enabled via Steam >Settings > Account in the Steam Client. Then enable the sharing feature via Settings > Family, (or in Big Picture mode, Settings > Family Library >Sharing,) where you'll also authorize specific computers and users to share. So, just make sure you flow the steps. I would assume you missed enabling Family Library Sharing.

With Steam Family Sharing, you're sharing your entire library at once, meaning that if someone is playing a game from your library, nobody else can access any game from that same library. If you're playing a game from your friend's library, your friend is free to play any games from your library, as your library is not in use while playing your friend's game.

The Knowledgebase says: Shared library locked This is an error indicates that someone else is using the shared library. A Steam library can only be used by one user at a time to play one game at a time. The same is true if that library is being accessed by another user via Family Sharing. Most likely someone is playing in Offline mode and does not appear to be using it, but is. Not 100% sure if it's possible to be offline on chat and playing a family-shared game, but I'd guess so. Your friend who is sharing their library could launch a game and wait 2-3 minutes before exiting to kick them off in case it's running in the background accidentally or from a bug.

You can enable family sharing through 'Setting' -> 'Family' and check 'Authorize Library Sharing on this computer'. After that you can click on 'Manage other computers' to add computers. Note that if you play a game on a shared library, that nobody else can play a game from that entire library. So, if you are playing a game, your child has to wait untill you close the game. Certain games are excluded from Steam family sharing. Arma 3 is one of them. Unfortunately, this means if you want to play Arma 3 you will either have to buy it, or play it while logged into your friend's account. An (outdated) list of ineligible games can be found here

The PIN is for the parental controls aka Family View, and really has nothing to do with Family Sharing. You should be able to disable the pin by following the official Knowledgebase article: Disabling Family View To remove Family View from your or your child’s account: Exit Family View. Open the Steam Settings menu. Go to the "Family" tab on the left side of the window that opens. Select “Disable Family View” from the right side of the Family View window. Confirm your selection on the next window. Note: If using Big Picture, uncheck the box in the first page of the Family View wizard. This will remove all restrictions from the account. If you wish to enable Family View in the future, simply revisit the "Family" tab in Settings and step through the Family View wizard once more. Your selected options will remain the same if you disable and re-enable the feature again in the future. After that your client should behave as normally as possible again.

This is a limitation of Steam Family Sharing caused by how it handles the data, specifically the fact it apparently only checks the first user in the sharing list when playing a shared game. The program SFS-Select provides some functionality to help with this, and manual directions I'll share a part of below (mostly a copy/paste from a Reddit comment of mine): Open /Steam/config/config.vdf in a text editor. Preferably something other than Notepad unless you change the settings to handle Tab as a tab character and not spaces (if that's not the default, and is a setting? It's been a long time since I used Notepad). Personally I like Atom as I know it can fold the data, but other programmer's editors likely can do so too. Find the key/title "AuthorizedDevice" and backup and then remove the contents, which will look something like the following if it's only the one person; otherwise you'll have to find out which user is which using something like SteamIDFinder or SteamDB's calculator so you can just remove that one. "AuthorizedDevice" { "107311984" { "timeused"      "1532591757" "description"       "Machine-Name" "tokenid"       "#" } } When editing be careful of the curly braces ({, }) because if one is removed it will corrupt the file. And also the 2 tab characters between each "key" "value" pair -- Steam can consider the file corrupt even for this, but does not always do so.

No. If you want to play the game, you have to buy it. There's no way to override the family sharing protection. If you're worried about continuing the story, that's a separate issue. Buying the game would let you continue your story.

Family share requests are almost instant, assuming everything works properly. For me, they have always taken less time than logging out and into the other Steam account. There's clearly an issue here that isn't needing to wait but without a lot more information, we won't be able to help.

No, at least not without shenanigans that break the terms and conditions. A single shared library can only be used by one account at once. If that library is in use by account 2, account 3 will be unable to access it at all. Account 1, if it is the owner of the game, can access it but will force account 2 to disconnect.

If both of you have the game and only one has the DLC, the DLC is not shared. He keeps the DLC and you have to buy it for yourself. I've had the same issue sharing libraries with my roommate. Occasionally it will forget that one of our computers is authorized on the other's account, the only workaround I've found is to log in on the other account and reset it. I've had to do this around a dozen times in the last few years, I haven't found a more convenient solution but it does reliably fix the issue.

From my own experience, yes you can. As long as the person doesn't actually launch any games they can download all they want.
