As answered in the comments @Tim is playing on PS3. Unfortunately, there are no settings in-game to remove the HUD. Certain multiplayer game modes such as the Hardcore Playlist will disable the HUD but these features are not available in the campaign. I'm sorry, but without modding the console (and risking game bans from Treyarch) the HUD will have to remain. As an aside, @Tim has expressed that they enjoy hardcore/immersive shooter games. I'd recommend the Operation Flashpoint series. It's a modern military shooter for the PS3 with realistic squad tactics and damage models. It might interest you.

No, it's not the same person. "Svoloch/Сволочь" in russian means "Bastard". The one in World at War was just some sniper, which was shot and killed in mid of Vendetta mission. The one in Black ops 1, Vorkuta (Gulag), was just some Prison Guard, which Reznov called "Svoloch", Bastard. The Sniper in Vendetta was German, and the Prison Guard in Vorkuta was Russian and those two events were ~21 years apart from each other.

Some people state that changing the FOV may result in a ban, so I wouldn't take the risk. It's considered cheating and some servers block values beyond a certain point anyway. In multiplayer games the FOV value resets constantly, so you need a key bind to set it back again: Open the console (~) and type bind w +forward;cg_fov (or whatever key moves you forward) to make that key both move you forward and change the field of view. The default value is 65 degrees. You can do that with other keys as well.

Well there honestly is not much you can do. Activision support will do NOTHING AT ALL, and they will never do anything for this game. When you get infected like you did then closing the game or turning off your console usually does the trick, if it remains after than you can try changing the names of custom classes and seeing if they are still editable. Prestiging will also reset your custom classes. If the modder deranks you to level -1, your only option is to install mods yourself and level yourself up in a private match or to get a friend or modder to level your account up in a private match. The game has been in a modder-infested state for a while, it is at its worst on PS3 (lowest player population). If you really want to play multiplayer your best bet is PC, I have only ever seen a single cheater on PC as it uses players own servers, which have good anti-cheat and active moderators.

I took a look at the WaW steam page, to see what the reviews are like and it seems as though co-op should still be functional. People who have recently purchased the game have praised the co-op element so you should be able to play co-op and multiplayer. You may have to manually search for servers, as I'm unsure as to whether the game still has built in server support from the developers.

According to a video game gore website this is possible and World at War is the only Call of Duty game having head dismemberment (WW2 featured decapitation later in 2017). From Wikia: On occasion, when enemy's head is blown off, the enemy will shriek in agony for a few seconds after, even without a mouth/head to scream with.

There is a patch which allows you to do this... I tried it ages back but it did not work for me, you might have better luck. Note: It is definitely not official, I would check and double check with an antivirus tool and Google the file name to see if anyone else has it working.

No, you do not need Internet to play WAW Zombies. However, you do need Internet to play Multiplayer in general (unless you can find a split-screen mod). When I say Multiplayer, I mean the Multiplayer game mode and WAW Zombies with other people online. Edit: I have first-hand proof that you do not need an Internet connection to play WAW Zombies. When I play WAW Zombies, I don't need Internet unless I am playing on Multiplayer Modes (zombies, team deathwatch, campaign co-op, etc..).

No, it isn't possible legally for free if you want to host the game. For it to be legal, you must purchase the DLCs or you can join the maps with your friends but they have to invite you (afaik). Searching for "Call of Duty World at War mods" on Google turned out a few mod sites, for example this one. Easy/hard is relative, but I think it is pretty easy to mod the game.

I played this with a friend a few years back. I believe the way we did it was by inviting to a lobby from the friends list in-game. If that does not work, you may have to port-forward your router in order to get your friend to join.

I already found out why it was doing that so no need for more answers or comments. It had to do with my recording software. Whenever I had it opened / recording it would crash the game.

You do not get any custom zombie maps no, however you CAN download them and put them into your game. If I recall correctly as well there are 2 zombie skins that were available in the game itself if you had a certain purchase. However if you want the entire zombie experience*and you have the money) you will have to buy the Zombie package which costs about 170$ it includes all the zombie stuff from all the CoD games that had zombie modes black ops, World at war etc... If you want to get the custom zombie maps here https://steamcommunity.com/groups/Imlikingmyzombies This should give you a head start. Hope that helps

I don't think so. Like any program, CoD WaW only gets inputs if the window is the active one -- regardless if you play with a controller or not. In the end the controller just sends key strokes to the game, thus resulting in actions in the game. So if the game loses focus, the key strokes sent by the controller just are received by the focused window. As far as I know multiple windows can't be active at the same time.

Both Infinity Ward and Treyarch refresh their servers regularly. As I stated in a comment, it can take up to 3 days to update.

This is possible. You are legitimately allowed to make backups of your purchased media. Take your Purchased game and do the following: 1. Insert the DISC 2. Move all the files across to your computer 3. Download IMGBurn to turn your Files into an .ISO 4. Download a virtual Mount software like PowerISO etc 5. Attach your .ISO to the virtual mount 6. Load up the game as usual and enter in your Key Code 7. Play. This does work. Everything is possible.

Games for Windows is simply something that gets put on the box art for some games, to suggest that they should work well with Windows Vista or Windows 7. It is separate from the Games for Windows Live (or GFWL) service which can be used to integrate the game with Xbox-style achievements, online multiplayer, and some DRM capabilities. The retail copies of Call of Duty: World at War is not a GFWL game. You will need to install it with using the CD, and enter the CD Key when appropriate in the installation process. The application you installed was probably the GFWL Store, which is used for buying DLC for various GFWL games (for example, Microsoft Flight). However, this does not have an option to download GFWL games that you've previously linked to your account through a CD key -- you still need to install them in the way you originally did. And in any case, this is not relevant for this game. TL;DR: Use the CD to install your game.

I didn't find anything, but this could be, if using PC, a damaged installation. Try re-installing it if you are on PC. You can also do this on console. It may also be damaged disc?
