You have to take one trip with Dodo airlines before you can ride with Kapp'n. Early in the game, the Dodos inform you that Tom Nook gave them a free Nook Miles Tour ticket for you to use, sort of to use as a tutorial for using Dodo Airlines for these tours. Kapp'n's tours are pretty identical to the Dodo Airline tours (with a wider variety of islands you can go to), so I suppose Kapp'n is making sure you know the rules of tours. He even makes a joke about this when landing at the island (saying something like "since you know the rules, I won't get into it"). Source: I also had this experience. My daughter's character had never uses their free Nook Miles ticket at the airport, and she was prevented from boarding Kapp'n's boat. After taking the airplane tour, she was able to use Kapp'n's service for 1000 miles.

Animal Crossing New Horizons does have scorpions that walk on the ground, as well as spiders that fall from shaken trees. However, the scorpions won’t kill, they will only make the player faint, and make the player respawn at their house, no matter where they fainted on the island. I do believe there are some sort of “spawn condition” for these dangerous critters that I am not aware of… I think you should be safe if you just stay in the village, but I can’t be 100% certain. Trees only drop furniture of the colors found in your shop. I time traveled for another month and shook my trees every day. I didn't get any new furniture. I did get several more items that appear in my shop: Red imperial furniture (shelf and screen) Brown rattan furniture (waste bin and end table) White cute furniture (sofa and tea table) I guess I can't say for sure that they would NEVER drop new furniture, but if they do, they do it so rarely that it is not a feasible way to get all the colors of furniture in a reasonable amount of time. During this time I visited Redd a few times and got new furniture pretty much every time: Box corner sofa in two colors I didn't have before Rattan stool in light brown I also popped a balloon and received a blue cute wall-mounted clock. Balloons and Redd will give you furniture colors not sold in your shop but your shop and trees seem to be limited to the same color for series of items.

I've travelled to another island set to February 2021 (it is May 2021 at the time of writing this). My turnips at home are fine. It seems time travelling to the past through someone else's island does not rot your turnips.

To answer this question is simply impossible without opening the code. Also, pretty sure the fossils assessment is a simple diceroll. It doesn't particularly look at what you got and what state your island is in. It will just roll something from the fossils table and give you it. So assessing on your island or your friends island doesn't change much. Save scumming is also impossible in Animal Crossing: New Horizons because as soon as you stop talking to Blathers after assessing the fossils, the game autosaves. So by the time you can look at your inventory to see what you got, the game is already saved and its impossible for you to go back to the 'non-assessed fossil' state.

If there at 12 or more other trees (stunted, growing, or fully grown) in the 9x9 grid surrounding the tree, the tree will not grow. For example the stunted tree near your head has 12 other trees trying to grow around it: To get your trees to grow properly you need to space them out more. In most situations, villagers do not retain any memory of their time on your island. If you encounter them at your campsite (either randomly or by using an amiibo/card scan) or on a mystery tour island, they will not speak of any previous time on your island. They are a new 'instance' of that villager. However, there is one exception to this. When a villager moves away from your island, they can move to one of your friend's islands. Whether your friend invites them from a campsite visit, or they automatically move in to a vacant lot on their island, they will remember that they were previous residents on your island. If you visit your friend's island and have a conversation with them, they will typically ask if you remember them from their time on your island. Yes, but only on the account that purchased it. A secondary account on the secondary switch cannot play the game at all. Your purchasing account will be able to download and play the game on the secondary switch, which includes making a new island.

As mentioned in my comment. There was a bug and starting the game from passive sleep had everyone forget about festivale. To fix it, I closed the game down completely and restarted it. After doing so, Isabelle was back on the announcements to start the event.

Unfortunately random visitors are, in the end, random. There are certain visitors that are guaranteed to show up on certain days, but most are put into a list that is randomly selected from to determine which visitors will appear on your island throughout the week. On Saturday, K.K. Slider is guaranteed to come. On Sunday, Daisy Mae is guaranteed to be present in the morning. That leaves 5 weekdays where random visitors are pulled from the list. Saharah and Kicks are guaranteed to fill two of these slots, and during certain events, other characters make take other slots (for example, if it is during the Nature Day event, Leif is guaranteed one of the slots). That means in the best case, there are 3 slots for the 7 remaining visitors. The three visitors that are selected to fill slots during any given week are given reduced priority for the following week, which means they won't be selected. That means if you don't see Redd for an entire week, there is a 3/4 or 75% chance that you will see him in the next week. However, this still means that each sequential week still has a 25% chance that you will not see a specific character. While this is fairly low, it is still possible, and there is nothing you can do to increase the probability of encountering them. It is likely that you are simply getting unlucky. Make sure you visit your island every single weekday to ensure you don't miss him when he finally shows up.

The main "advancements" of the game (setting up residents that come as part of Tom Nook requests and not just arriving to open lots, building/upgrading Nook's Cranny, establishing museum, etc.) can only be done by the Resident Representative, who is the first person who moved to the island. Money trees turn into "regular" deciduous trees once they've been shaken for their moneybags. While I don't exactly understand how the guide is manipulating the tree mechanics, it hinges on there being exactly 7 trees. If you plant a money tree, you have 8 trees, and all bets are off.

After you've made friends with your villagers (by which I mean after you've talked to them a bunch over several days) you'll gain the ability to say "This is for you!" and give them a gift a day. These gifts can be clothes, and if the villager can wear them (they can wear most shirts, dresses, coats, full outfits, and some hats and accessories, but not pants, socks or shoes) the villager usually will pop on the gifted ensemble. After that, they usually insert the shirt into their rotation of clothes. "But WAIT!" you say, "That's just not cool enough! I want my villagers to be wearing Insane Clown Posse logos and outfits cribbed from Soul Eater!" Well, good news! After lovable hedgehog clothes-seller Mabel shows up in town three times and you buy a few thousand bells' worth of fashion items from her, she'll establish the Able Sisters tailor shop, and you can pop designs you've made on the back wall of the store. From then on, occasionally you'll see villagers waltzing around your island in your personally-made designs--some of my villagers are wearing my real-life work uniform as we speak.

I had a similar problem. Earlier in the game when it rained almost every day (and I had an islander obsessed with watering everything) flowers took a large portion of my island. Here's how I cleaned it up in a decent amount of time: A lot of shovels Carry a trash can Place the trash can near your group of flowers Dig up all the flowers you can Dump them into the trash can rinse and repeat steps 3 - 5 until you clean up It still took about half a day to clean everything up.... but it was doable, put on a podcast/movie marathon/netflix/etc. and just go at it. Something else you can do is employ "best friends", as they are also allowed to dig up things. So gather some friends, and make an event out of it (prizes for most dug, payment of bells/nook mile tickets/other stuff). One more tip to prevent the flower outbreak. Make a design pattern that is just a full grid of transparency, you can place this to surround the flowers. They won't spread, and it still looks like normal ground. You can also use construction to add various paths... as long as it isn't plain ground flowers won't spread.

You can't lose progress to a crash as far as I know. The game has an autosave feature so you can't lose anything. The lag is likely caused by a large number of items along with the rain, which is slightly straining the GPU (nothing to worry about). As for why it's only happening in this particular location, it's possibly because of where you are; the bottom of the map means it's possible for a camera to need to render a lot of your island, so my guess is that the GPU is not culling things that are further back, leading the game to need to be rendering a lot of things at once

You could create another switch account and make another character on the island to get another storage set. The only problem is that you will have another house to deal with which might bother you aesthetically.
